If you start fucking with color saturations and contrasting, you can tell a completely different story (making someone appear darker than their environment or someone appearing lighter). it's because they shoot everything with an idiot proof low contrast dLog that they will "fix later" with no lighting or even care about exposure. I do productions for a living and I get zoomer/mexican videographers that I hire and they will return shit like this and when I ask why they didn't just make it look good WHILE THEY WERE FILMING they look at me like I'm some old ass unc who doesn't understand that you can color grade on the computer. Yes jorge, I know you can fix it later but it's going to look worse and take more time than just properly lighting and exposing at the time. When I shoot footage it's ready to go I only rely on low contrast dlog shit if I have no choice because it's a space with uncontrollable lighting but that's almost NEVER the case. I was taught during a time where you HAD to light correctly and expose correctly but now mexicans can just point the cámara and shoot and get a boring but not terrible picture no matter what.
