Why is the prequel trilogy so hated?

Only Star Wars 1977 is actually good. its self contained, fun and infinetly rewatchable. Empire forces you to rewatch Return by ending on a genuine cliffhanger, which makes it worse than Krieg der Sterne by default.

epi 1 in general is a mess.Jar Jar is annoying as fuck.Anakin is such a mary sou. Making droids, winning the podrace, flying like a ace fighter pilot.Pick one.Introducing Midichlorians explaining away all of the force is so fucking retarded.
II is just a genuinely terrible film and has nearly nothing good going for it. Terrible script, terrible acting, very obvious CGI scenes stick out like a sore thumb, etc.
