Planet of the Apes: The classic. I loved this movie. Too bad I was pop cultured into the big twist like probably anyone nowadays. But great.

Beneat the planet of the apes: Really weird movie. Not good, but interesting premise. Charlton Heston did not want to appear in this movie at all, but he did a small part and had his pay go to charity. It's kind of an insane sequel.

Escape from the Planet of the Apes: This one is great. It's a really funny premise, "how do you sequel a movie where the planet blows up"? Well you just have some apes escape before it blows up and somehow they travel back in time. But it's got a lot of comedy beats, and kind of a really cruel, dark ending

Conquest of the Planet of the Apes: This one was another fascinating turn for the series, it's kind of like an oppressive regime/prison rebellion themed movie. It's a lot more stripped down, kind of Fahrenheit 451/Onions Green feeling movie in terms of its tone. Not very good but not terrible. Roddy McDowall is great as caesar, and it has some big cops vs monkeys fights with lots of extras that are impressive still

Battle for the Planet of the Apes: This one is kind of terrible. I don't remember much of it, I remember it's more tribal fights. This premise was done better in the remakes

2001 Planet of the Apes: I never watched it

Rise of the Planet Of The Apes: Decent movie, cgi monkeys breathing new life into the series, but mostly a kind of stage setter for better movies to follow

Dawn of the planet of the apes: Easily the best one of the lot. Great cgi monkes and humans actors, great characters, lots of important stakes and we see the monke society in a lot of depth. I love this movie the most

War for the planet of the apes: I love this movie as well. Apes are imprisoned and oppressed, apes are on the losing side, but there are lots of good ape characters and emotional arcs. Great movie

Kingdom of the planet of the apes: I thought this movie was fairly good...

... Ceasar is gone, we're in the future, it's all apes again. Ultimately this movie felt like a reset of the franchise. I don't know where it's going to continue from here. This movie could have been made (it was) or it could not have been made, and it wouldn't have made a big difference. Overall I liked it well enough to justify its existence

My ranking overall:
Dawn > Planet of the apes 1968 > War > Escape > Rise = Kingdom > Conquest = Battle > Beneath

I forgot to mention it in my previous post but Caesar cgi monke as played by the gollum guy really is the best performance/character in the series, the monke has so much emotional weight in his expressions and decisions he is so torn all the time. I wasn't an ape guy before "Dawn of the planet of the apes" but that movie made me retroactively watch all the original ape movies and watch every new ape movie in theaters day 1, the movies are still profitable and a new monke movie is being made so i expect to watch it

Accurate takes. This series is surprisingly solid compared to many others. The reboots were good contributions and made use of modern CGI to make the characters apes and not people in costumes. That the second movie had so much screen time without speech was a bold and effective move. Even “Kingdom” works as a road trip adventure.

i think SEXO!!!! but i think the apes are too smart compared to the non-apes in Vigilante Citizen by Uwe boll -dono.

I wonder if hes having threesomes with Kate and other actresses. Kate was known to sleep around with other actresses while she was with Jamie Bell's good friend Max Minghella.

Mara's tits aside, all the originals are great.
