>Flashbacks show that Kara’s father Zor-El saved Argo City from Krypton’s destruction by encasing it in a force field. They survived for 30 years until the soil turned to Kryptonite and everybody slowly died.>Kara was born in Argo, so she is now Superman’s younger cousin.>Jor-El and Lara were fringe extremists with their “super-harem” plan. Zor-El specifically did not want to send Kara to Earth because he was afraid godlike powers could warp her morals.>After Kara’s mother Alura died of Kryptonite poisoning, Zor-El realized there was no other way, built a rocket ship for Kara, and sent her and Krypto to Earth, where Superman finds them.>Superman encourages Kara to become Supergirl, but she’s depressed over Argo and her parents’ deaths and just wants to go to red sun planets to get shitfaced.>Superman appears throughout the movie in a series of video calls asking Kara to return to Earth and make it her new home.>On present day, Kara and Krypto are partying in a planet where the Brigands, space pirates led by Krem, are also in.>The Brigands kill a local blacksmith to steal the weapons he crafted. His daughter Ruthye vows revenge, bumps into Kara in a bar and asks for her help, but Kara refuses.>The Brigands later steal Kara’s ship and Krem shoots Krypto with a poison dart that will kill Krypto in three days, and Krem has the only antidote.>Kara decides to go after Krem, and Ruthye follows her. They fight bandits in an intergalactic bus and follow the Brigands to a planet where they bump into Lobo, who is chasing a bounty on Krem’s second-in-command.
>They meet a family whose daughter was kidnapped by the Brigands to be a sex slave. They try to trade Kara and Ruthye for their daughter, Ruthye has a chance to kill Krem but Kara stops her, Krem ends up killing the family and escaping.>Kara feels guilty and goes after Krem alone, but the planet he’s hiding in has a green sun that makes Kara sick. Ruthye follows and rescues her.>While Kara is recovering, the Brigands captured Ruthye. They have also captured Lobo off-screen. The green sun rotates into a yellow sun, Kara gets charged-up, suits up as Supergirl, rescues Ruthye and Lobo, and they fight the Brigands.>Lobo kills Krem’s right-hand and leaves to collect his bounty. Kara and Ruthye free the Brigands’ sex slaves, and Kara convinces Ruthye not to kill Krem so she doesn’t become a murderer.>After Ruthye leaves, Kara kills Krem by stabbing him through the head with his sword.>Krypto gets the antidote and makes a full recovery.>Kara takes Ruthye partying before dropping her off back at her aunt’s house in her homeworld.>Kara returns to Earth, tells Superman she is ready to settle down, and crashes in his apartment with Krypto.
