Why is no one on this board talking about this masterpiece ? The visuals are great, the script is clever, the soundtrack is simply top notch, in one sentence it's a kino of the highest order.
I got the DVD, but it's on my back burner
>>221366222It's absolutely phenomenal but it's not everyone's cup of tea. If you like eastern European atmosphere and can stomach technobabble and weird character motivations then it's for you. I think everyone likes the combat. It also has a good soundtrack. Weirdly enough I feel more like its something to discuss on /m/.
>>221366222It's been on my imdb watchlist for like 10 years
>>221366222Never heard of it before but I just watched GITS for the first time recently - I will check this out.
>>221366222I never were able to find the japanese version ever again in torrent. It was really good.
>>221366222I have no idea why but I’ve seen the last 30 minutes of this movie. Does it actually make sense or is it just 2deep4u weird shit? What was with the little girl at the end?
>>221369579If you watch the whole movie, everything will make sense. Simply remember that this movie is basically a remake of Stalker (by Tarkovsky) but for the video game medium.
>>221369175>I never wereGood morning saar.
>>221366222for me it's the VFX. can't believe this came out in 2001. sure, the filters help a lot, but VFX will only age well if the director knows its limits and how to hide them, instead of flaunting expensive tech in shots that will look ridiculous a few years later. the Japs in general are very good at the former.
I had it downloaded for years but never completely finished. It does have a unique cinematography and all the equipment is real surplus weapons so it does look like a vr military simulator. Have watched gits: innocence dozens of time but not finished this once. Will get on it.
