Is it worth checking out now or is it one of those shows that shit the bed so badly that it retroactively ruins the first season? (Heroes springs to mind as one such instance of that.)

It was a weird time. As I recall people were excited to finally have a male protagonist back in Star Wars murdering everythihg in his way, there was some initial excitement then when that big ol MMA bitch showed up and smacked him around it caused the first shitstorm.
