DCEU

Man of Steel (2013)
>A deconstruction of first contact stories that uses Plato’s Allegory of the Cave by framing Superman not as a savior but as the blinding, disruptive light forcing humanity out of its comfortable ignorance and into a brave new world the age of the Superman.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
>A post-9/11 thesis exploring the existential dread of modern statecraft, Batman embodies neoconservative paranoia while Superman serves as a direct, tragic commentary on the hubris of America acting as world police.

Suicide Squad (2016)
>A neon-drenched Dirty Dozen homage that accidentally achieves pure Dadaism by asserting that the only logical defense against literal gods is a mentally unstable clown girl with a baseball bat and a guy who climbs things good.

DCU

Superman
>A shallow Guardians of the Galaxy retread complete with Superman acting like starlord and shallow needle drops replacing anything resembling genuine cinematic weight but hey they occasionally trot out a little dog in a cape so retards will say it's "Comic accurate"

Supergirl
>Shameless hodgepodge of Mad Max/Guardians that mistakes bad cgi fights, swearing and arbitrary pop songs for character development

Man of Tomorrow
>A cynically transparent rushed attempt by Gunn to fast track SOMETHING into production before the merger officially clears and the new board fires him.

Snyder made Superman and Batman into literal murderers.
>>
>>221367757
>movies only fags when they're forced to engage with any of the other among hundreds of storylines in a property's canon other than the specific movie they saw when they were 6
jesus christ you, and I use this term loosely, people are exhausting.
>>
>>221367757
Oh no! Anyway...
>>

>Snyder made Superman and Batman into literal murderers.

Both the Donner and Burton Bats/Supes murdered people and Burton batman doesn't even have a character reason behind it like Batman does in BvS

God damn the CGI in this is so fucking bad
The part where the guys are falling to earth looks like a literal fucking crazy frog phone ad

Gunn said he would have no problem with Superman killing someone, if he had to save someone else, so Superman isn't a murderer. When it comes to Batman, yeah he was a murderer.

Really blatant and cynical attempt by Gunn to give his Superman the mascara eyes thing that the Matt Reeves batman has.

I'm not even a huge cocksucker for that movie it's just really cringe attempt by him to "buddy up" to that film because he obviously thought the movie would eventually fold into his universe (that's never fucking happening now)
>>
>>221367757
So is the Gunn Superman?
>>

Batman realizing he’s become the same murderer that traumatized him into being a mentally ill crime fighter is a good concept

There are things cartoons can do that live action just shouldn't try to.

Still younger than the average age of the avengers, and you know will still put them in marvel films as long as they're making money.

>if they brought back cavil he'd be like 48 when the new movie came out

An older Superman guiding his son on how to be a hero, drawing from his own early days when he was inexperienced and made big mistakes, and now using that hard-earned wisdom to help his son avoid the same pitfalls? Yeah, that could definitely work.
>>
>>221367826
I really really liked the visual metaphor of Bruce Wayne slowly losing his humanity as he isolated himself from the outside world only interacting with it through Alfred or from behind the protective armor of his vehicles and later power suit. It made for a satisfying payoff when blinded by rage bearing down on Clark to kill him he for the first time in ages looks upon the face of a mere mortal man, mask broken, without abstraction or intermediary. I understand how for an average summer blockbuster audience who isn't paying very good attention, the sequence could come across goofy or hard to decipher but I really appreciated it.
>>
>>221368198
No one wants to see Superman's homosexual son in a movie. What were those idiots thinking when they gave Superman a gay son?
>>
>>221368198
teenagers would think that's gay bro
>>
>>221368415
He wasn't gay at the start, just a normal kid. Later writers aged him up, and then not happy, turned him gay.
>>
>>221368161
>what if luke skywalker was 50 bro
He chimped out at his nephew, didn't you see the movie?
>>
>>221367898

I actually think you guys are missing the simpler explanation. Gunn just has a really weird fixation on eye injuries (Starro's eye, and the Kaiju in this movie) and Superman getting his eyes attacked is just another instance of that. I dunmo why he's like this, but I'm 98% sure that's why this moment happened.

>Man of Steel (2013)
>Emotionally stunted manchild with no agency destroys two cities while trying to solve a problem he caused, learning nothing.
>Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
>angry duded pointlessly fight each other over nothing, bond over nothing and then fight a monster. One of them dies over nothing.
>Suicide Squad (2016)
Lol

>DCU
>Superman
A mid superman movie with good parts.
>Supergirl
>Usual modern hollywood female character fare, based on Tom King vomit
>Man of Tomorrow
Probably another mid superman movie with good parts

A couple of bad scenes in perfect movies
VS
A cople of bad movies where all the scenes are bad. Also Batman has no reason at all in BvS

The accusation of turning SM, BM and WW into murders still stand. Deal with it

Nobody want to see Cavillman back
That ship was sunk by Snyder

Man of Steel was a mouth-breathing neanderthal-brained grimdark drizzling shit of a movie that showed a fundamental lack of understanding of Superman.

>You've only read the modern dogshit
Nigga the "Modern Dogshit" is when they made her more of an "Ambassador for peace" in Rebirth/late New 52 and even then she'll still kill people if she has to.

She's never had a No kill rule and outright killed people from the golden age up to more "modern" times hell one of her most famous comic moments is when she killed Maxwell lord, you're clearly getting your interpretation of the character from the animated versions which while good aren't comic accurate versions of the characters due to being literal Saturday morning cartoons.

You're a retarded larper kys tranny

>>221367757
Gunn made Supergirl very intentionally murder the villain in her movie by the way
