Conspiracy Time: I think they were the given the writing credits to give their endorsement of Al Gore more weight and legitimacy. Essentially making the public think they were smart guys, even geniuses at the time.
>>
It was written by the same guy who made the backrooms post in 4chan. He's just glad that his ideas get movies and their creators get millions while he collects disability checks.

Why not? It's a shit movie.
They got awards for it because of Harv's connections. And you think it's good because you're easily influenced goy.

It's a good movie, moreso because of Robin Williams and Gus Van Zants contributions. It wouldn't have been watchable without them. But even still the scenes with Robin Williams are well written and I can't imagine Ben and Matt writing them, especially with the films they have made since that I've seen.

The things I would do to 2000s Matt Damon are borderline criminal.

It's shallow Gary Stu melodrama, of course they wrote it.

Yes

Is that him and his boyfriend?
>>
I think they wrote it, because its presented as someone with gifted superiority on a laughable level. See also Elon Musk, Rey Skywalker, A Beautiful Mind, Robert Deniro.

Well gee I wonder if theater kids in their early 20s would write a movie about being a secret super genius that owns college normies. Promised Land and The Town also feel too much like GWH to not be the same writers

Some of the least attractive attractive people of all time

>do you like apples?
>well how do you like dem apples?
this was 100% written by dumb himbo actors

Why pretend good will hunting isn't kino and that line wasn't iconic? The film was at least ghost written even if Matt and Ben came up with the smartest janitor in the world plot originally. Or maybe it was just lucky idk I always thought this was a generally accepted "Good" movie.
>>
>>221375553
it's memed to death and "iconic" because of how stupid it is
I'm sure you think "you're a big guy for you" is poetry and also not iconic because of how clunky and awkward it is

>idk I always thought this was a generally accepted "Good" movie.
These things are called Oscar bait anon. They choose a subject matter they think will look good to the public and win prestigious awards quite deliberately for the sake of stepping up their careers.

>A writing credit in 1997 is changed (even though you'd have to broker a deal between unions lest anyone sue you) so that an endorsement for an election in 2000 can go through. Even though that endorsement is for a sitting Vice President.
I don't think conspiracies are for you anon.
>>
>>221375553
it's beyond just a good movie. the president of the US had a party hosting the movie.

There was a rumour that William Goldman wrote it but he denied it himself.
