ey guys,Finally got the full printed copy of my feature NEUROSALINE in my hands.Feels pretty good. It’s a cosmic psychological horror about four teenage boys who go out drinking on a small skiff and wake up lost at sea… in what turns out to be a conscious ocean (like a giant nervous system made of salt water). What's been especially surreal is seeing people get involved simply because they believe in it. I've had people creating artwork inspired by the script, and two different people have even started working on a score for it—all completely on their own. That's something I never expected when I first started writing. If anyone’s interested in reading it and giving feedback, I’d really appreciate it.https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oSzfQAvvin_WuLUzjTW5zyStZG-DOSka/view?usp=sharing
Here is a poster that a user sent me on Reddit. Looks pretty cool! I’ll link some of the music whenever the other user sends me that.
interesting logline

I love that concept and would be very down to read it.
>>221371133>It’s a cosmic psychological horror about four teenage boysthe things writers have to do to get their scripts approved by hollyjew pedos...
>>221371133Congratulations on starting a project and actually finishing it anon! I hope you didn't do that out of singular obsession with this one idea, it's a nice idea, but the process of making is so much more important. The idea is just an idea, but you're now a guy who can write original screenplays. I don't understand Solaris and I don't understand your movie either, but I'm pumped for your future success.
>>221371133I just made a script called Neurohaline that involves four teenage girls on a living ocean. Thanks op
>>221372407Sounds impossible to film and metaphorically unclear. The ocean represents their period?
>>221371133>in what turns out to be a conscious ocean (like a giant nervous system made of salt water).Isn't that literally Solaris or that other book made into a movie by the Stalker director?
Salt?
I hope it works out for you anon!I have a movie idea too. The movie is called Pipedream. It's about a guy with nothing to lose who travels to Los Angeles to pipe the hottest asses in America while getting paid, but consequently has to live in an abusive gay relationship as a bottom. Ultimately his visa runs out and he's deported. Turns out he now has AIDS too. It would be an emotional rollercoaster of a movie. It would have 'crazy comedy' elements like when the main character gets his head breached through a wall while naked, but a visceral and gripping final scene at the doctor's office that turns the whole atmosphere on it's head.

What happens if you poop in the ocean?
Things I love:>It's naturalistic, survival, boat kino that makes use of the setting>The dialogue has pace and direction that makes it filmable. Your style translates to film>There's a grasp of impactful visuals without breaking the budget>The setup is perfectly simple, feels like a hollywood horrorImpressive things:>Shots are well conceived and physically possible>All the attention to detail with typewriter font and style all perfect, completionism>Extremely efficient set like Dead Calm, no budget movieNeutral things:>It's explicitly survival horror because of the small cast plus monster>It's old fashioned and stale/pale/male by hollywood standards>A number of random references flying around including the name Jonah and ancient mariner tropes, the only thing implying he'll surviveLess good things: >It's an unwinnable scenario from the start, the question is will they escape. The ocean can't be beaten. There's no attempt to escape, just a grim descent into death. It's not a character study because no one expects them to withstand cosmic evil>Character arcs are limited. The last scene between Jonah and Rocco compares poorly to the campfire scene in Treasure of the Sierra Madre because Jonah isn't that much of a good guyThings I hated: >In a survival situation, the ignorance and smallness of man is what put him out there and only joint action can bring him back. In slasher horror, a group of people gets picked off because they're weak. Combining the two gets you essentially real life, and there lies a problem. Maybe there is no evil mind ocean, we have no reason to believe in these guys. This is symbolically a story of guys screwing up their cruise, drowning, dying of thirst. Maybe if you're a film genius you can work that, but an impossible project isn't what you were going for. There needs to be heroism and struggle to qualify as filmable, even if they all die at the end. The fact that they're all normals who don't react to danger makes it sad.
