I learned the other day that the Palpatine fight scene is so weird and goofy because after hiring a stunt double to film a completely different scene they'd practiced for weeks George arrived the day to film it and randomly changed his mind and wanted Mcdiarmid to do the entire thing and wanted him to do all the choreography himself.
