Kryptonite coupled with his power level makes almost any plot fall apart under scrutiny as a series of asspulls. The pacing of comics smoothes this over in a way that a feature length film can’t. The only way to make it work is if the asspull itself is the point.

And C) DC in particula has been ashamed of its characters for a long while and is obsessed in repurposing them, trying everything except the iconic larger than life inspirational col shit that people liked about it decades ago.It's not difficult, but they easy route will be the only one they won't pick
