>last and only good movie adaptation was 50 years ago
Why is it so hard to make a good Superman movie when most other major heroes now all have multiple good movies to their names?
>>
Kryptonite coupled with his power level makes almost any plot fall apart under scrutiny as a series of asspulls. The pacing of comics smoothes this over in a way that a feature length film can’t. The only way to make it work is if the asspull itself is the point.

Multiple enemies can be a threat, especially if they don't go retarded on meta crap

>when most other major heroes now all have multiple good movies to their names?
lol very very few have a good one, and that's even less true for DC characters.

Answer is A) comics went to shit at least two decased ago so anything inspired by that or involving their writers will be shit. B) once repurposed for the normiecattle becomes shit and falls apart. And C) DC in particula has been ashamed of its characters for a long while and is obsessed in repurposing them, trying everything except the iconic larger than life inspirational col shit that people liked about it decades ago.

It's not difficult, but they easy route will be the only one they won't pick

We don't need more adaptations of Superjew
>>
Fuck Yourself & Fuck The Cunts who didn't give this a sequel.

Superman works best as the endgame for a Clark going through his hero's journey. Like Smallville.

I repeat, Fuck Yourself.

YOURSELF

Cons!
> Not addressing the destruction.
> Execution of the tornado scene.
> Smashing the trucker's truck.
> Pa Kent not having enough positive/optimistic scenes.
> Pa Kent's "maybe" line.
> Clark accidentally taking Zod into Smallville.

Pro or Con depending on your subjective preferences!
> Killing Zod.
> Clark being genuinely conflicted about revealing himself to the public and the potential dire consequences of such.
> Fight scenes/battles are not short. IMO they are just the right length but some consider the final fight to have been overly long.
> No jokes breaking tension during the fight or life & death sequences.

Pros!
> Clark learning to fly + him stopping the world engine are universally praised scenes even among haters.
> Extremely well choreographed epic fight scenes.
> Simultaneously grounded in a realistic feeling earth but with a truly epic feel, scope & scale.
> Incredibly well crafted sets and outfits.
> Beautiful score.
> Flawless cast.
> Best, most competent, least overly emotional Lois Lane in the history of live action except MAYBE Durance.
> Zod is a great villain.
> Faora is iconic & sexy as fuck.
> No homaging/copying/retreading the Donner films (aside from using zod)
> Fantastic Krypton opening.
> Some nice military porn without overdoing it or being "America fuck yeah" like MBay.
> Inspiring despite the honest & slightly dour presentation of humanity being flawed. Scenes of the Daily Planet staff, the main solider & Toby from the West Wing being willing to sacrifice themselves are all well done.

goku will forever mog, superkike is too jewish

The cartoon was so kino. I don't understand why the movies struggle so much.
>>
>>221374070
Because the kind of person who is capable of succeeding in the movie industry and reach a point where he can get to direct a Superman movie is very unlikely to be a comic book fan who respects the character.

Because the world loves Batman way more.

Nerds didn't, but normal people liked it fine enough. Still sold more tickets than Gunnman.
>and nuked that flopped universe from the get go
The DCEU lasted several years after...

Making a Superman movie is not all that hard if one likes and accept what Superman is. They just don´t. They want to be this or that instead but Superman is just so iconic that all inferior versions are meet with rejection. A better question is why and how they get away with subpar adaptations of Batman; he should be just as iconic as Superman yet audiences are more accepting of him getting fucked over.
>>
>>221374070
he works better on TV, only problem is the budget for effects
>>
>>221374420
not really, it was vastly inferior to btas
>>
Superman is just poison, goody two shoes characters like Spiderman and Captain America are beloved. Captain America wasn’t even that big before the MCU.
>>
>>221374433
Haven't seen Unbound. I heard it was one of the worst of the pre-War-verse era movies.

Keep telling yourself that, bud >>221374450
>subpar adaptations of Batman
Excuse you?
>>
>>221374070
I like the Gunn movie but I'm not interested in Supergirl at all and I don't particularly think a new DC universe even makes sense anymore. It's too little too late

>>221374517
>he works better on TV, only problem is the budget for effects
We been solved that.
>>
>>221374559
dcau became unwatchable after the dark knight returns, lot darker tone and terrible korean animation
>>
>>221374577
The only good live action Batman adaptations are the Burton movies but even those fall short compared to the glory of TAS and now that Conroy is gone we will never have something as good again.
>>
>>221374070
Too be fair the last good comic book adaptation was also 50 years ago and was also Superman
>noooooo Thor ragnarok was heckin kino
Nah
>>
>>221374070
Man of Steel was near perfect for me. I bet i won't like your idea of "good"
>>
>>221374500
I agree with the first part and think that's mostly it. Even Gunn admitted to not liking or understanding the character so he just did what he wanted to and made him Star Lord. Donner was the only one to really get it and I think that's mostly because Christopher Reeve was just an actual real life version of Superman
>>
>>221374465
>but normal people liked it fine enough
Not really. Thats the each one of the snyderverse movies made less than the last one.
It was riding off the nolan batman and capeshit hype train.
That is the reason why 90% of the internet snyder defense force seem to be mentally ill indians who think making fun of Zaddy takes away their izzat.
>>
>>221377145
>Thats the each one of the snyderverse movies made less than the last one.
Aquaman made a billion dollars, bud. Nice try.
>>
>>221374070
His enemies are almost always lex, zod, doomsday and some form of bizzaro
>>
>>221374070
WB is a shitty studio for DC, always has been
>>
>>221374070
I liked that last one.
>>
>>221374070
Superman is a shitty jewish superhero and normal people feel that instinctually and are repelled
>>
Clark is a dork, Superman is an alien. It's not hard to make him endearing
