I only watched the first season then people didn't say great things about season 2 and it sounded like they were going further into no answers mystery slop so I didn't watch it.

It was rushed. Season 2 felt like they were cramming in a billion different disconnected ideas they wanted to do, then it had an ending that was excellent, wrapped up almost everything, and felt like an excellent ending for the show. I think that behind the scenes, apple told them they were ending the show early with s2, then changed their minds and decided the show should be 4-5 seasons. I loved s1 and felt that while s2 was shaky its ending redeemed it. I have absolutely zero hope for s3 and beyond
