Ok /tv/Not a popular opinion here but whatever. I would like to say that I really like Spielberg and generally dont know why you guys hate him so much. Sure he makes pretty simple big budget films but I like that as when I watch any of his movies I'm just there for the ride and I really don't care for any metaphorical/symbolism bullshit you see in Malick or Tarkovsky. So why do you people hate him so much? He is a good director, a well thought producer, he enjoys what he does and seems like a generally nice person. Is it because he's Jewish?
>>221377184He gives me the heebie jeebies.
>>221377184because I know he can do better but he won't anymore
>>221377261He's old as fuck. Probably starting to get dementia.
>>221377184was the merchant drawing inspired by him?
>>221377507It was inspired by his people.
>>221377184I was hating on him for a while because his movies are made for mainstream audiences, but I have come around to him as a director, and he's definitely one of the all-time greats in technique.
>>221377184I like Jaws but he's clearly a pedo and banged most child actors he's had on set.
>>221377184I love ET. Both the movie and that lil nigga
kike
>>221377690What about the atari game?
>>221377705He’s done more for Christianity in a positive manner than most other directors
>>221377184It's literally because of antisemitism and retardation (that one blind item how he allegedly raped Heather O'Rourke).
>>221377722Yeah and the ride is the best thing at universal studios
>>221377184He ventured to Epstein island
>>221377863he's not on the list
>>221377825ET ride is unironically kino, the second you smell that musty forest queue you're 8 years old again. Universal should be legally barred from ever replacing it.
>>221377184I don't like him because he and George Lucas effectively ended the most kino decade for movies (70s) with their dumb shit for kids
>>221379467Duel and Jaws weren't really kids movies, neither was THX 1138.I get what you mean but some variation of Star Wars and/or Jurassic Park would've existed sooner or later, so blockbusters were inevitable.
>>221377184because it only takes a little bit of success for people to hate you, that being said i don't think he's a great artist, he's a very good director in the sense that he can make the most inane scene be entertaining to watch
>>221377184he comes across as a sex pest and makes deeply problematic movies
>>221377184Some people don't like him because there's a naive sincerity to his stories and for awhile everything had to be dark and depressing. Plus it's probably been like 10-15 years since he made a truly great movie. Like his stories or not I think its undeniable he's fucking a fantastic technical director. Dude knows how to shoot a movie better than pretty much anyone.
>>221379498>spielberg>problematic moviesLol wut? he makes the most inoffensive blockbuster type family movies, with a few R-rated exceptions
>>221377184Nice screencap selection
>>221379586A wrinkled old man telling the tiny tyke hiding him not to tell his parent is anything but "naive". They do Tip to Tip for deep level bonding, srsly.
>>221379628agree to disagree
>>221377184hi there mr Spielberg. I didn't know you had that little of a self-esteem
>>221377184Heather O'Rourke is why I hate him.
He hasn't made a good film in over 20 years, he's more washed than Ridley Scott
