Its got the "Lost" problem. You can't solve the mystery or the show is over. So you just keep adding plot lines and don't resolve any of them.

first 20 minutes of the first episode is pretty funny, then it's just complete dogshit after that and not worth watching

i think the show does a great job of giving him wins like when he gets hit with the crowbar and immediately stands up to chase the guy down, then when he confronts the guy later he stands tall again. if this was 10 year earlier the protag would be pussying out left and right

If you Robbins other stuff you will definetly enjoy it.
If you didnt then probably not.
Also the ending sucks and I seriously hope it's not the direction they take season 2.

Also much of the humor is derived from people shouting at each other. Loud=funny apparently.
It's for these reasons I dropped it after 2 episodes.
Excellent concept for a show though.

It's one of those things where you watch a clip on youtube and you think it's going to be hilarious and then you watch the entire thing and you realize that clip was the only part that was funny and it was only funny because it was entirely out of context.

It's a strong seven out of ten. But the second season won't deliver.

i'd argue over half the humor is not yelling, a lot of it is awkward and bizarre social interactions aswell as relatable moments like him looking for how to give feedback on the website or crying and typing a comment on a youtube video

Curse was 100% not as funny and I generally adore Nathan Fielder, Rehearsal and N4You are his better works. Chair Company even had a stronger narrative and secret society atmospheric surrealness, I'll grant the Curse subtlety is a massive strength and more impressive, CC has very weird scenarios and weird people but the Curse will make things that should be normal feel very uncanney

I just started watching and I unironically love it. It threads the needle between stupid absurdism/cringe comedy and sincere weirdness and mystery extremely well, and the ways it visually sends up the thriller genre are just dead on. Also it takes place in my hometown which is a bonus.

It is a surprising take down of our society, that somehow maintains nuance throughout. Also helps that it is actually entertaining and threads several needles. Definitely one of the best shows of the 2020s (not a high bar).

i recommended this show to my mum before i'd seen the end of that particular episode and had to quickly tell her she wouldn't like it
