After watching The Founder do you think that Ray Kroc ripped of the brothers and should have given them more for the MCD Concept? Was it an accurate portrayal?

>Was it an accurate portrayal?
No. It was a dramatic hollywood adaptation.

>jew scams someone out of something
say it ain't so
>>
I know it's unfashionable these days, but I still like McDonald's food. And I won't apologise for that, Spurlock.

This. They had small dreams and weren't hustling salesmen; that's what they needed: someone to drive them. They were just technical people.
>>
It does seem like he abused them for the MCD Concept.
>>
>>221380749
same, but also >>221380774 has a point because everything is way overpriced these days. when they had their 2 for $6 app deals, it was an amazing value but clearly loss leaders for them so they stopped. totally not worth current menu prices
>>
>>221381056
Neither was ray croc. magic jew needed to come tell him how to franchise.

im not an insider or /biz/ man anon.

but i think BAGA King!!! should get a biopic because their CEO is more based than current year Wacdonald's pussy.

My opinion is that Ray Kroc is essentially the man who did all the leg work to build an empire for a pair of ungrateful do nothing dickheads whose only contribution was the idea, and fuck self-important ideas guys. Ray tried so many different ways to rework the deal to be more fair to him after making the brothers the lions share of money but their greed wouldn't budge so Ray rightfully got his by screwing them over as they had been doing him.
>>
>>221380559
Pretty sure this movie was talked the fuck out like 10 years ago and you're just here to shill McDonalds.
>>
>>221382662
Pretty much this. The guys came up with a good idea but didn't have the ambition or scope of vision to capitalize on it further than a handful of franchises in their local area. Also, they became much wealthier and didn't have to work anymore thanks to Ray Kroc. But they were sniveling little bitches that couldn't just enjoy their success, they just assumed they deserved more because they had the original idea. Even 1% of McDonald's profits into perpetuity made them multimillionaires many times over. Just some bitch ass punks.

You should see the story of Hungry Jack's in Australia. That shit is pure kino.

How are this many people this clueless about what actually happened? Yes, Ray Kroc did most of the leg work to actually expand McDonald's into a proper nationwide franchise but the brothers weren't bums who tried to impede or screw him over, they were just kind of laid-back and didn't care either way. By most accounts, Ray held more of a grudge against them than the other way around. When it came to the handshake agreement, the brothers weren't even mad when he broke it. They were interviewed about it and they basically laughed it off and said it was just Ray being Ray.

Oh and that part about Ray buying off the very first McDonald's and driving them completely out of business while they looked on and cried? Didn't happen. Yes he did buy it but the brothers were retired and happy by then. But then a movie about a workaholic that became successful and two savvy but unambitious brothers who basically lived a good life and ended up pretty happy with where things went doesn't make for a compelling movie.

>>221382850
muh noble Ray theory
>>
>>221382714
It’s made completely clear they tried to expand but ran into the same problems croc did and, same as croc, couldn’t figure out how to maintain standards. Then magic jew comes along and explains it to just croc.

But I don’t understand. Where do you eat it?

I think Ray Kroc did almost nothing wrong. The only bad shit he did was take their name
>>
>>221380559
No. In a lot of Hollywood bullshit.
In the end the McDonald bros were pretty happy with the buyout price, but they were miffed on the "handshake" royalties. The movie was right, they didn't get a cent in the royalties handshake.

Try going a couple of months without fast food then try eating it.
Shit is literally poison.
>>
>>221380559

The brothers had no ambition. Their requirements of franchisees were unreasonable. They basically let franchises happen to punish the investor and have a laugh. Kroc suffered with others until he got a great advisor and told them to fuck themselves. The brothers each got 1.3 million AND a degree of royalties in spite of what the film said. They didn't get robbed.

I still don't really understand the franchise concept and how the jewish investor saved the business. Can someone explain it to a brainlet?

When you buy a franchise you are buying a right to open a McDonalds, or whatever, restaurant. You are the owner of that restaurant but you have to follow the franchisor's rules, and you have to pay them a percentage of the store's income as licensing fees.

In exchange for these fees and limitations on your independence the franchisor is giving you an IP that people know so you will have a built in consumer base, and they ideally support the franchise owner in other ways like handling some of the administration, providing training, and providing vendors at lower rates than would normally be available.

Additionally if something bad happens at a particular franchise owner's restaurant that could lead to a lawsuit that person can only sue that individual restaurant and not the actual company.
