Stupid scene, Van Gogh is only famous because he's a miserable piece of shit. Making him happy breaks the point.
>He was talented
Maybe, but there's other talented dudes out there, his whole schtick is his shitty life.
>>
>>221386914
>miserable people are never allowed to be happy
you must be fun at parties
>>

Doctor Who officially died this episode
>>
Van Gogh probably would have killed himself again if he saw this
>>
>>221386937
Why? is not like he was punk or some shit and hated the fame
>>
>>221386937
He didnt kill himself, he was obviously shot by accident, but he was just too kind to even point fingers to the guy that did it
>>
>>221386745
That's not a film
>>
>>221386745
Eh, wouldn't showing him that he would be greatly appreciated and loved in the future just make him more bitter against the time he lived in?
>>

>emotional moment in a film.

when Micheal Jackoson got his hair set on fire by Pepsi
>>

>See? people love your work in the future!
>Oh yes, I can see that, but... I actually need to eat in my time, wish people could buy my stuff back then
>>
>>221386980
What if he pointed it out, but they changed the story so he would look more miserable? A guy who killed himself to save his brother who'd die of sadness after anyways is cooler than a guy who got shot by accident.

it was nice that they went back before vincent killed himself so he could see the 2026 world cup
>>
>>221386960
Because no one liked his art back then and people only appreciate his art now because he killed himself so that makes it sooooo cool
>>
>>221387027
Maybe he killed himself because Scotland lost. This was all Amy's fault.
>>
>>221387027
>Van Gogh saw Mono dancing after scoring against his country

>A guy who killed himself to save his brother who'd die of sadness after anyways is cooler than a guy who got shot by accident
Reality is often disappointing
>>
If I saw people gushing over my bullshit art I made before killing myself I'd cry too. Because they still don't even get it. Bet they're taking selfies in front of my art too just for likes
>>
>>221386914
He still kills himself. The Doctor said it didn't really change anything.
>>
>>221386914
You know he still kills himself in the episode right
>>
This stupid 7 minutes of bulls talking to each other had more emotion than the last 10 movies I watched combined

And I do love movies, I watch at least 1-2 new movies every week

is that famous Hungarian adult film actress Kiara Lord next to him?
>>
>>221386914
If Van Gogh was just a miserbable piece of shit he would've been forgeotten before his time
>>
>>221386755
This made me a boob man
>>
>continues showing his passion by making art despite having no success
>lol here's your success haha now be happy

I vaguely recall someone-or-other saying that every film is based around one single moment, usually just a few seconds. Everything before it is just to set it up and everything after it is just dealing with the aftermath.

An interesting idea, although I think it's probably an exaggeration. It might be true for some films.

<Pic attached> sort of fits the template if you think that the film is basically not a buddy comedy but a rebirth drama. Robert De Niro starts the film entirely estranged from the world, snapping and snarling at everyone, and gradually moves on from that. This is the pivotal moment in that process.
