Very nice lore (actually kind of weird how involved it gets) and continuity between episodes, but that was some of the worst acting ever broadcast on tv.
what is this? I have various memories of shitty sci-fi and lost world movies on AMC all merging together from when I watched them in the early 1990s with my grandfather
I wouldn't say worst, theres far FAR more horrible stuff if you look but it was wooden i'll agree. I think really though it's because the family itself wasn't really the crux of the whole thing, the land and its inhabitants were, like you said about the lore. That's what always got me, the Sleestak and Enik expecially being a time displaced member of their race, the dinos and the pylons and just all of it.

The new writers were awful and all the lore that had been building to that point got scrapped in favor of a generic "monster of the week" formula.Do yourself a favor and watch Season 2, and then stop there.
