Ok bros I'm reporting in with my review. I'm still shocked this is a Uwe Boll movie desu. Not because it is great, or good in the same way Death Wish or similar genre flicks can be. It also didn't have that same magic of unwatchable, point and laugh Uwe kino. It's essentially coherent (for Uwe) and is surprisingly cathartic. Only really one totally inarguably unhinged moment occured, which is totally uncharacteristic of Uwe. Even more uncharacteristic is how precise Uwe sets his sights: he doesn't target mass migration as a whole in this film, not aimlessly at least. The lead basically only states how no one voted for this. He explains how we're collectively kind of turning into something that is beneath a serf in the west because of it all. Uwe is focused, I think oddly, and again totally uncharacteristically on a serious moral problem in the total corruption of our legal system and what enables this. No filmmakers are really touching this because of the underlying anathema. In comes Armie Hammer. Best decision Uwe made on this film. He wrote his lead essentially as a knight. He is an armed, trained, ruthless landlord who is managing the flock among uninvited problems like a Carolingian knight fighting off highwaymen and soft bullies. He has no equals, he is not fighting off someone at his level of competence and Hammer plays this in a way that carries the film. The experience isn't really realistic but audiences are enjoying it because the symbolism is indeed sufficiently strong, the memises is strong. Technical and classic Uwe narrative mistakes are found in spades, sure. But in terms of lighting and forming something coherent, this project is an honest effort from director Uwe MF Boll. I can't believe I'm saying this but 3.2/5 and would rewatch.
