Only reason I went to see this was for Mamoa Lobo but his potrayal was mid at best. I had been hearing very bad reviews since few days but I found the movie to be not that bad cause my expectation were low due to those reviews. Wouldnt be surprised if this movie bombs though
>>
>>221392336
Trailer looked like shit, movie was shit. The end.
>>
>>221392336
shouldn't have told everyone it was a movie for the gays
>>
>>221392336
probably too dark, since superman was like zoomer heaven in comparison, in terms of tone, but anyway, the straight hair shouldn't be a big deal
>>
>>221392476
Nigger word. Anyone using it at all is invalid.
I expect it's an ok movie for kids. The new users on /tv/ and /v/ should not be welcomed. Their spam doesn't have any worth. They simply enjoy trying to make out something good is bad. Anyone can do that. That is why cops etc critics aren't sought out as company.
>>
>>221392336
In what way was it kino? Is it her dumb face? Her stupid trenchcoat? Her being a disgusting drunk?
>>
>>221392336
It wasn’t kino you’re just a porn addict
>>
>>221395288
Kino is an european word for "cinema". Not sure how it started being associated with good movies, but it is what it is.
And no, the Supergirl movie wasn't good. OP is sort of right that even the small cameo she had in Superman was better.
>>
>>221396093
>Not sure how it started being associated with good movies, but it is what it is.
Unironically because of Zack Snyder's DC movies. More specifically BvS.
>>
>>221396093
Lurk more nigger
>>
>>221392336
Supergirl was not directed by Gunn and had a bad script, that's how that happens
why the fuck they went with the muted/brown slurry image instead of keeping the colors of Superman for their goddamn SPACE ADVENTURE, especially when trying to ostensibly create a cohesive cinematic universe...just baffling
>>
>>221392336
>The superman cameo was so kino
No it wasn't.

>>221392336
Most women are surprisingly tolerable for a maximum of 30 seconds (that's when it all goes to shit).
>>
>>221392336
The appeal of superman is altruism and hopefulness. Why make SG a burnout?

I do get the sex appeal of "punk rock" but after dating one, worst experience of my life and am not attrated to it at all any more. Only Gen X retards still find that attitude attractive. Everyone else has supid drunk whore fatigue.
>>
>>221397533
Gunn was assistant director, and producer.
>>
>>221392336
I don't how she was so hot in her cameo. Was it the lighting? In Supergirl, the entire fucking film was so damn dark and she looked like fucking shit.
>>
>>221397533
Gunn's fingerprints were all over this fucking movie like Snyder's were with Wonder Woman. Enough with the cope
>>
>>221392336
Why is every superhero and disney actress in the last decade just full on misandrist and that's their whole personality
>>
Why would supergirl have brunette roots
>>
>>221397614
She saw her nation go to shit cause of space cancer... Despite apparently living a really happy life until then it made enough of an impact on her to jade her. She also hates Earth because it's noisy. I feel like they'd have been better going for the triangle prison cube origin instead. Being trapped in there would make you feel pretty shit coming out.

>Kino is an european word for "cinema".
Kino is the Japanese word for "yesterday". It started being associated with "good movies" when they stopped producing them and all good cinema left was the cinema of days gone past.
>>
>>221397862
The japanese word makes a lot less sense being used for a film than the word for cinema

>The interesting thing is, I didn’t go back and look at anything of Supergirl before the meeting. I just read [Ana’s] script, and I put together this 120-page visual deck of what I wanted the world to be just off of the script. I didn’t even look at Tom King’s comic. I just wanted to do something that I was excited about. It was very gritty and dark, and you could just feel the dirt and the grime, and just being on the fringe of this alien world with the poverty and the crime. I went down this rabbit hole of what that visual idea was to me. And then also, literally the first thing in the meeting was, “I don’t want her to put on the superhero outfit for long as possible… until she’s emotionally ready to take that on.” And they signed off on all of it.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

not him but I read the comic book and it's not exactly war & peace. the kindest thing I can say about it is that it's mostly okay. the only thing in it that had any impact on me was when Ruthye is confused by an alien toilet and SG teaches her how to wash her hands for the first time. other than that it's true grit set in jack vance universe, and not in a good way

This movie shoudn't have been made. Too soon anyway, the cameo was already a red flag, Supergirl is not that bitchy and dismissive

>>
>>221392336
Out of the 4 DCU projects released so far 3 were written and directed by Gunn, the 4th is a Gunn knockoff. Surrounding yourself with a writer that has zero credits, the bop/flash writer, and tom king doesn’t exactly exude confidence. They’ve also been trying to hack WW and Batman for 3 years now with nothing to show for it.

Kino comment
>>
>>221392336
Ben Affleck literally said it. No self respecting creative is going to touch the DCU with a ten foot pole. Nobody wants to be pedo Gunn’s underling.
>>
>>221392336
The problem is Gunn not changing styles from GotG to Superman. Most normies had no clue what to expect from a group of lesser known C-list characters so there weren't that many people complaining about how far Gunn strayed from the source material. Superman is a different story, most people are at least familiar with the general premise of Superman. Both Superman 2025 and Supergirl suffer from the same problem as the Scooby Doo movie from 2002 that Gunn wrote; you can't tell what the hell he was going for tone-wise. Both the '02 Scooby flick and the 2025 Superman feel like a heart-felt tribute to the characters and franchise yet simultaneously being a mean-spirited, cynical mockery of the properties.

It's like how Mike Myers kept tried to use the Austin Powers formula on Cat in the Hat, it just doesn't work on something so different.

Not helped by the weird changes to the characters; Superman's an overly emotional wimp constantly getting beaten up and never allowed to look cool. Supergirl's a drunken, apathetic bitch. Krypto's an annoying little mutt rather and a noble Labrador (or whatever he is) that they're desperately trying to make the next Grogu.

>Ben Affleck literally said it
did he?
>>
>>221392336
The ice-blue and white lighting of the Fortress of Solitude concealed the finer details of her face pretty well, on top of that half the audience watched a blurry camrip and further hid her looks from the harsh judgement of HD 4K detail.

You’re acting like he can consciously do that. He only knows how to make one thing.
>>
>>221400421
He can. All he has to do is stop making every character so one note. These are not an ensemble movies with 5 or 6 characters to juggle. They have a single main character that should be more fleshed out beyond being a goody two shoes or a drunk whore. Just giving either of them a single other character trait would go a long way in distinguishing these from the Guardians movies.
>>
>>221400075
yeah the hair and the way she has her head sticking out masked a lot of her features
>>
>>221392336
The cameo should have been an introduction to her character having a supporting role in the sequel, not a standalone film. Give it a few years with some more establishing projects with bigger players, Batman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, whoever etc. for the eventual Justice League set up, and then you could start having sidekick one-offs.
As it stands, it's strange they decided to go with a Supergirl solo film so soon after last year's introduction to this new shared universe.

Ben Affleck was in Snyderverse kek he ain't the one to talk

Yeah, the shitty Tom King comic. Tom King is the worst comic book writer next to Bendis and Aaron.

The fact that people were defending this Supergirl scene is embarrassing.

Gunn approved the script and called it the best script ever made

Why are people like this? This isn’t even an actor needing their face to be seen for money reasons. This is a director actively not wanting the superhero to were their costume.

Why are people like this?

Dogshit directing and script. Writer managed to completely miss the point of the source material somehow.

Milly was cute and Jason was badass hope we see them in a more competent project.
