>>221397406Used to be more of a Padraic then Colm took over gradually and now at full steam. I just leave anyone at the drop of a hat and don't feel a thing. It seems like leaving things behind I used to enjoy or do is sudden, but it always preceded by a long drawn out silent tolerance. Colm was unsatisfied and fed up for a long time before cutting his fingers off.It's just very easy to end up with nothing and alone, you literally have to do nothing for it.

They will shut me down and change the subject if I want to talk about something but then DEMAND that I pay attention raptly to all the stuff they want to talk about. Eventually it's just too much of a burden for such a one way relationship and I ghost them. Now I'm just a lot more distant from people because it's better to never let them get their hooks into you in the first place than it is to have some dramatic parting.

To get along with people you have to accept that you're imperfect and people have to put up with you but in exchange you put up with other people. As long as both parties are respectful and willing to give a little it works out. But yes the people you are talking about just see other people as vehicles to use in order to get dopamine. If feels good to be "better" than others so they will constantly try to push you down so they can feel higher than you.
