Isn't the lore that the bombs dropped in the 1950s? .44 mag didn't get produced until 1956. 10mm was invented in like the late 80/early 90s due to the 1986 Miami Dade FBI shoot out. Was there a shootout in one of the vaults? Don't they also have Marlin 1895 rifles? That's also pretty silly because the current marlin 1895s came out in the 1970s after having not been produced for like 50 years and the ones in the game are the new models. Like the "marlin 1895" is a Marlin 444 which is just an oversized Marlin 336 but they named it the 1895 because they wanted to market it the same as the actual 1895 which was the big frame gun. Unless they actually are marlin 336s, cause that's fine, Marlin started making those shortly after WWII. But the Marlin 444 came about in the 1960s and the Marlin 1895 is from the 1970s. I know they used the 10mm because the centimeter was the cool new in vogue futuristic round the FBI was using when Fallout 1 came out. Deus Ex does the same thing since it came out around the same time. ARs also aren't that bad. the first AR-10 production was 1956 and the first production AR-15 was 1959 but they had prototypes in the mid 1950s

You do have the brotherhood of steel and the enclave there, both military factions with strong desire to preserve tech. They may have been privy to classified schematics for upcomming tech such as these firearms and went ahead with constructing some. It's a reach but not a huge one.
