>It’s becoming clearer by the day that Steven Spielberg’s “Disclosure Day” will not turn a profit. The original sci-fi film is expected to decline another 60% this weekend and still won’t reach the $100M domestic milestone, with its North American total projected to stand at $93M by Sunday. Worldwide, it has grossed just over $185M. Produced on a reported $115M budget, the film would need roughly $300M worldwide to break even, according to industry estimates cited by the trades.

>Spielberg’s return to summer blockbuster filmmaking was not expected to underperform to this extent. His last unequivocal box office hit was 2018’s “Ready Player One,” which earned $607M worldwide.

Blockbuster? Literally nothing happens the entire movie and the lead lady looks terrible

>I have evidence of aliens! People need to know the truth!
>Upload it to X, Facebook, or fucking BlueSky?
>No. We need to be chased to the television news station because that's how people will know it's real!
Peak boomer slop. Take Steven's camera and trafficked children away from him. He's done.
>>
Don't gatekeep Stevie, time to herald in the new class of Jews. I believe the huge success of both Obsession & that liminal space one speak for itself
>>
>>221399007
Kek is that really the plot? Pure boomer slop indeed.

I wonder if Disclosure Day crashing and burning made Spielberg question Moloch?
>>
>>221398476
Of course it will. They'll be selling streaming rights for years.
>>
>>221399085
That is unironically the driving force of the plot. Throw in some alien magic that solves all the protag's conflicts by having multiple characters literally say "I don't know why I'm doing this but ok" wirh some bad car chases and that's the movie.
>>
>>221399151
If the aliens want to be known than how come they don't just fucking fly down? Why do they need some old hag to do it?
>>
>>221398476
>Disclosure Day won’t turn a profit
Every movie eventually turns a profit

For the first time ever normies got filtered by Spielberg. Definitely his "weirdest" film and only UFO heads truly understood it.

SPIELBERG IS RUINED
KEK WHAT A TALENTLESS HACK
WHAT HAPPENED TO HEATHER O'ROURKE STEVEN?
>>
Just watched it, that was pretty shit. The bones are there but thats really all I can give it. The newcast lady acts like a sperms the entire film with emotional outbursts and acts like "Why are you treating me like I'm crazy???". Also what's the point of the agency torturing the ayylmao's? It felt unnecessary if their whole point is just keep humanity in the dark and covering stuff up. The nun gf was also stupid, "what're Christians going to do if they witness another Supreme being?" Like lady that alien is strapped to a table and is being ganked, what strikes you as it being supreme? Also the bad guys assistant being the only one that stood on business, he was just going to kill the MCs while villain was just like idk let them go

Why did he kill her?

none of the characters had any characterization and the former nun served no purpose in the movie other than asking the elder nun what the bible said about aliens

Where the fuck was that money?
>>221399085
>Kek is that really the plot?
The bad guy has a legion of soldiers at his command and will stop at nothing to stop disclosure. He kills multiple people and tries to have the lead stabbed to death. He could end it all with a bullet, but he just gives up. That's the resolution. For some reason, he didn't want to stop it anymore.

>>221399811
>Definitely his "weirdest" film
But it's not. Close Encounters tested audience patience far more than this and is still infinitely better. Fucking E.T. is better. Did Speilberg have a stroke? It's not just the aliens angle, but it's like he has nothing to say about it. DUUUUDE IMAGINE IF LMAOLIENS PLANTED SOME ANAL PROBED PSIOPS ON EARTH AND THEN THEY DID A DISCLOSURE
Okay. What about it, Stevie? What are you trying to say? Wouldn't it be cool if? If what?
>>

>former nun served no purpose in the movie other than asking the elder nun what the bible said about aliens
Fake "religious themes" shoved in to fool tards with a film degree. You see if you mention something, that means it's a theme in the movie. Mention God and faith. Tick that box.

Good.
The movie is trash. Spielberg is washed.

Boomers are incapable of realizing it isn't 1995

Nothing in any of the trailers or promotional material did anything to convince me that this was an interesting or novel take on a genre of film that has been done to death.

I'm sure people will read into this that "not even Spielberg can make money any more on the big screen" but I don't think it's even that meaningful really. It looked boring.
>>
>>221398476
Lol, should've made something less generic
>>
>>221402979
I was mildly interested in the concept, but then I saw the trailer. It seemed so bland. I had enough Regal points to see a free movie, but they weren't allowing passes for Disclosure Day so I saw Death of Robin Hood instead. It was interesting.

>>221398476
I thought is was about disclosing all the kids Spielberg's been fucking.
