Did they really drink at the office back then? Imagine drinking at the office.
>>
>>221401032
All of my best ideas came to me when I was drunk.
>>
I'm imagining it right now
>>
>>221401032
This scene made me kek. Wtf was Peggy’s deal
>>
It was a more civilized time
>>
>>221401032
If you had to deal with women you would too
>>
Day drinking sucks. I’d fall asleep unless I just kept going until night time
>>
Used to smoke, too. I remember smoking in the backroom of a retail store I worked at as recently as the latter 90s. I still marvel at how inconceivable that would be today.

>>
>>221401085
Having 3 drinks and then getting sober makes you realize alcohol is poison because you feel so shitty
>>
>>221401032
According to my old manager, they used to have a whisky dispenser on the wall in the kitchen.
>>
>>221401032
This is how alcoholics function.
>>
alcohol created human civilization
>>
Don Draper died in 1987 of liver failure.
>>
>>221401032
I had a cool coworker who'd drink at the job, i.e. he'd put a shot or two of vodka in his gatorade. He eventually stepped it up to doing half the bottle vodka so he got caught.
>>
>>221401204
I used to smoke inside by the loading docks in the warehouse as a grocery manager back in the 2000s. Smoking rules are different based on your nature of work. The more blue collar the easier it is to get away with smoking, mostly because you're doing the shit physical work that makes the suits money so who cares if a couple of guys smoke cigarettes?
>>
>>221401032
Ive drank at the office this week, child.
>>
>>221401730
People used to did it openly and not have to hide it.

I can't imagine getting wasted at work. Now, going into work with a belly full of vodka on the other hand....
>>
>>221401032
People didn't have offices they had jobs.
>>
The sooner you all realize that alcohol is jewish poison to keep the goyim subdued, the better off you’ll be
>>
>>221403508
god you're a fucking idiot. do you talk like this irl too or have you just not left your house in ages?
>>
>>221403537
roasty toasty liquid jew victim spotted.. not even the anon you're responding to
>>
>>221403537
braindead goy. You will forever be a slave to the poison
>>
>>221403508
Alcohol is the foundation of western civilization you retarded cunt. Without alcohol we'd all still be living in piss poor villages staring at sheep all day because large towns could never keep the population safely hydrated or perform first aid. Goy drugs are "stabilizers" like SSRI's, opiates, and weed that keep you retards doing nothing all day.
>>
>>221403597
ROME is the foundation of western civilization. Has nothing to do with alcohol you stupid cattle
>>
>>221403628
Hey retard Rome wouldn't exist without alchol. Potable liquid is the foundation of supply lines and allowing people to sit down for dinner and drink something knowing they wont get dysentery. They literally drank weak wine with every meal because the other option was gambling that well water was safe.
>>
Nah, just grab a coffee cup and take a "smoke break" in the car like everyone else is obviously doing
>>
>>221403597
This
White men invented alcohol
>>
>>221401032
my brother got a job at a high end restaurant and all of the line cooks had a small bottle that they'd sip on during the shift. i couldn't imagine working in a hot kitchen and drinking hard liquor
>>
>>221401402
I hate sobriety so much. Cutting down on junk food and alcohol didn't improve my mood. Neither did going for a walk every day for weeks. There's really no cure for life and all I'm doing is denying myself the only stuff that made my miserable life bearable.

Don't reply to bait like that. They're trying to make the boards unusable. Well, they kinda are already.
>>
>>221401032
Given how bad water quality has been for most of human history, alcoholic beverages were often the safer choice. And while they would have been significantly less potent than alcohol now, most people would have been drinking them constantly.
Human history makes a lot more sense when you consider that everyone in any kind of powered position was a least a little drunk.

Also given how much lead was in everything in the 60s, the alcohol was probably less of a factor.
>>
>>221401032
>magine drinking at the office
Yeah haha. H-how crazy. Nobody would do that right?
>>
>>221401204

>>
>>221401032
Sounds terrible. I'd rather get drunk with people I like, and when I don't have to also deal with work shit. I know the higher ups do it, but frankly I'm better off if they're suggestible.
>>221401499
No, it grew with human civilization
>>221403750
Yeah the source of dissatisfaction in modern life doesn't really have anything to do with any individual habit. It's kinda why therapy is also ineffective in a lot of cases.
>>
>>221404921
i liked him. it was nice that he wasn't just a perfect person after getting sober and he still was out of touch with women's ideas
>>
>>221401032
>Did they really drink at the office back then?
Back then?
>>
i have an office job and they have a fridge full of beer. it's just unspoken that you won't overdo it though
>>

>watch random movie from/set in the 60s
>everyone is buzzed by noon
>all wearing nice clothes
>no led lights
>anyone not a white man is a second class citizen
must've sucked
>>
>>221401032
The only problem alcohol has ever caused me is hysterical faggots screaming and crying when they see me drink it.
>>
>>221401032
HR sent an email out saying there is a new rule banning drinking alcohol in the office during work hours. I read this email while drinking whiskey with head of the firm during work hours.
>>
>>221401063
Same but also the worst ones
>>
>>221405265
Why are women incapable of comprehending the idea that maybe a little buzz helps some people function a little better in certain situations?
>>
>>221405281
same. i feel like i can be more clever while drunk but i've also said some mean shit to people that i regretted
>>
>>221405293
It was probably a liability thing, but we are also in a boozy law office. We got kicked out of the ritz and banned from having our holiday party there ever again because one of the employees got so drunk he started smashing the bathroom and the Santa we hired kept sneaking drinks while he was wandering around and ended up passing out on the stairs.

>>
>>221401499
No. Women demanded civilization. Alcohol was invented to deal with civilized women.

i feel like peggy was always confused why don never made a pass at her and bangs almost every one of his secretaries
>>
>>221405328
Even tribal bands and steppe nomads have been drinking for thousands of years.
>>
>>221401032
People drank (diluted) hard liquor every day at work since the 1700's. Temperance movement people weren't right, but I can see where they're coming from.
Like whoa these old politicians spoke so loftily and at length, yeah because they were buzzed.

my coworker would drive to work in horrible snow without a license and was a horrible alcoholic. they'd catch him sleeping in storage during his shift years before i even got there. one day they found him sleeping under a printing press while it was on (loud as fuck) and said he needed to get help or get fired. he told them to fuck off and left
>>

>>
>>221406532
A happier, healthier, and more contented life, and probably a weed habit.
>>
>>221406532
find new hobbies and surround yourself with people that won't tempt you. i've seen it common that a lot of addicts get super into working out after
>>
>>221406418
You're really dumb if you think the 18th century is trad. That's when the already corrupted agrarian lifestyle imposed on humanity started changing rapidly and violently every few decades. You're not supposed to drink poison every day just to tolerate existence. You're supposed to eat good food your tribe hunted, breed novel females whenever they come around, and help guide your tribe once you survive beyond your 30s.
>>
>>221401204
ok boomer
>>
>>221403628
they drank wine
the soldiers had to mix vinegar with their water when out to purify their water. that's why the bible mentions a soldier offering jesus sour wine
Guess how they used to make vinegar and guess why all the fish and chip shops in the islamic caliphate of england use nonbrewed condiment instead of vinegar
>>
>>221404767
they did a great job at that on /k/ with all of the butthurt belt nafo yurofaggots who all happen to also be muslim because they all hate the US and they all make a billion fucking no gunz threads all the fucking time.
Did you know /k/ is one of the only or the only boards that let's you post as many threads as you want? most boards limit you to like 3 or 5.
yuropoors also spam /b/, /gif/ and /soc/ with tranny, faggot and black dick porn.
hell most boards are fucking terrible now with the whole site losing like half the traffic and the top boards are like /vg/ and /vt/ which are both ass. So everyone is stuck off topic posting on /v/ or /tv/ since they are faster and have the lowest barrier to entry

Just drink water you retard. Even if people drank alcohol a long time ago because it was safer than water, that is clearly not true today. Water is essential and alcohol is poison. Water and cannabis are infinitely superior to being some moronic boozehound drunkenly pretending to be the centre of civilisation. You're a tramp not a roman.

Water, coffee, cannabis, milk. That's civilisation.
>>
>>221406800
Primitive chunky ~5% ABV wine from 2,000 years ago is not relevant to your modern addiction to industrially produced alcohol. The Romans would probably beat your ass if they saw your pathetic alcoholic ass.
>>
>>221406849
I'm not an alcoholic you fucking retard. I haven't drunk since fathers' day
>>
>>221406900
>I'm not an alcoholic
Then why defend corporations whose only goal is to addict you to poison that harms your health and makes you dumb and fat?

With the exception of fighting games, it fucking sucks gaming drunk, and fighting games are probably just simulating two chimps beating each other up while the others yell and holler in a circle

no drips, just diazepam in tablet form for the first 4 days and then small doses of tiapridal. I arrived at the hospital in a relatively good condition as I had been trying to stop drinking myself for the last week before hospitalization. So I only drank about 10 beers and half a liter of vodka a day. It was much better in the hospital than I expected. Honestly, anything is a better alternative than gradually drinking yourself to death.
