The last season is shit but everything before that is good/interesting at worst and fucking KINO at best.

Lorelai is honestly a fascinating character, and her relationship with her mom is the true star of the show. Two of the best characters television had ever produced.

Rory's downfall is interesting, but weirdly shallow by the end of the show. Richard's realization about Rory during that event she organized is probably the best scene in the whole series.

Lane is under-utilized and becomes a trainwreck of a character by the end of the series unfortunately, Paris is so good I often rewatch some episode just because of her, Kirk is precious, and Luke is the funniest character in the series when he is not being an absolute beta orbiter.

The writing in the first 5 seasons is really good. The performances are solid and the locations are great too. Unironically a great show.

Despite being very popular with women, it paints a horrible picture of women though. Both main characters are completely ruled by their emotions, toy with men with no care in the world and fall in and out of "love" in a heartbeat. They also constantly break down in tears and act hysterically when things go wrong. You would think it was written by misogynists if you didn't know better.

The last seasons and that revival Netflix mini series are pretty bad though. They should have just ended it with season 5. The Rory actress also looks like a tanned leather sofa in the Netflix thing, the Lorelai actress forgot how to act and Luke is geriatric. They also made the Rory character a failed Buzzfeed journalist who sleeps with married men. Almost funny bad.
