I wouldn’t say this scene ruins the movie but Spielberg would have made a flawless masterpiece were it not for this scene. I think it would have been more powerful and effective if Oskar Schindler would have gotten in the vehicle, the vehicle takes off and we get an interior scene where he quietly says to himself “I should have done more.” instead of the maudlin breakdown group hug scene but I guess Spielberg can’t help being Spielberg. Credit where credit is due though, the stones on the real life grave ending is masterful and makes up for every lousy moving ending Spielberg has ever been responsible for.
