It is a product of its time, i.e., absurdist and anti-authority humor. The Holy Grail movie came out in 1975, FIFTY ONE years ago. Consider also how society massively changed since then due to the internet, compared to 1975 vs 1924. It's a testament to Monty Python that their work is still being quoted and talked about to this day.

There are Looney Tunes shorts from the 50s that still hold up. There are Vaudeville acts turned movies like The Marx Brothers that also hold up in the writing department (in case someone wanted to argue that Looney Tunes is slapstick and that makes a difference for some reason) Good comedy is timeless.
