I am going to take a radical position and suggest movies and TV suck today because the only people are "artist" who care about the message. Media was good when it made money and you had hungry money men in it trying to maximize the product. Today films ROI is so much worse that just tossing your money in the market. Why the fuck would you invest in a film when you could just do some tech IPO and get 100X returns? The actual smart men have all left the media industry.
THAT IS NOT A «RADICAL POSITION»: IT IS A STUPID OPINION.
Close but not quiteMiyazaki was rightThe people making media nowadays aren't drawing from real human experiences they're drawing from other movies which makes everything a derivative of a derivative
>>221404539I think you are far more likely to make something good with real money on the line. Now its just nepo gays and DEI hires squandering daddies money to spread gay race communism they saw on tumblr. The old studio machines were about big money. Today your local grocery store does 1 million to 2 million a week in sales per location and the money moving through media is miniscule even compared to that kinda boring retail.
>>221404451I remain completely unconvinced that movies and TV suck today. >>221404539This.
>>221404561>The people making media nowadays aren't drawing from real human experiences they're drawing from other movies which makes everything a derivative of a derivativeThat's a stupid meme.
>>221404451It’s more that Californians are insane now and that’s where Hollywood is
>>221404451It's just unrealistic to expect good movies and shows coming out at the rate they used to, it doesn't mean there will never be good movies or shows again.
>>221404897>good movies and shows coming out at the rate they used toPeople love to say that, but I don't think it's true. How many great shows did actually come out before the 2010s prestige television boom? Or how many of the "film classics" are actually good and didn't make their mark only because of popularity at the time?
>>221404539A stupid opinion represents the first faltering step one must take towards holding a truly radical position.
