Wouldn't that be someone who collects VHS tapes?

No, it would be laserdisc. There's a lot of overlap with laserdisc people and vinyl people since laserdisc was well known for its excellent sound quality.

>Criterion collectors

This is a good answer. I was also going to say laser disc collectors. because, that is still a thing.

I hate Criterion, all their latest releases have been fucked with. I'd say they're like the tumblr girls of vinyl record buyers since they only buy remasters and play them on shitty Crosley's.
>>

iirc Kar Wai was overseeing the new remaster and insisted on the green tint. I prefer the older version myself though

Yet it occurred on multiple Criterion releases.

I'm a vinyl guy. Remasters on any format usually suck and are soulless, but believe it or not some of those shitty little briefcase players sound better than a lot of low to midsumer sound systems. So crosley or victrola slander will not be tolerated.
>>
>>221407193
Why do they do this

Supposedly to bring it inline with the color grading on new movies. I don't have a pic of it but Paris, Texas also got fucked for its 4K Criterion release a few years back too.
>>

Imagine thinking criterion go and change movies.
The Directors and the Cinematographers change them. They make them how they want them to look.
Films are meant to look like films, not documentaries.
They're not all meant to look bright and natural.
>>
>>221407202
Coz that's how it's meant to look. Criterion don't do it, the directors and DP's do it.

So you enjoy every movie being changed to blue then?

:D

funny how it's only in the last 10 years that all these movies suddenly needed to have the teal look to them.
>>
>>221407108
Not to mention most repro records aren't mixed from the master or even anolog. You're getting an overpriced digital recording on a record

> Not Kurva-sama.
One job.
