Why is Hollywood so afraid of an R-rating for comic book movies when they literally never fail?
>>221407216it's cringe>dude what if capeshit but MATURE (mature = sex and violence)
>>221407241Is it that you hate sex and violence? Or that you hate comic book movies?
>>221407216This one was good, but it depressed the fuck out of me. Also, it’s basically Children of Men but Wolverine.
>>221407216executives and shareholders are obsessed with getting the biggest potential audience possible, which means they hate R rated movies
>>221407437I went to watch X-men when I was 17 as a weird kid who didn't know where I fit in. 17 years later I saw logan as a middle aged man who didn't feel invincible any more and was watching my father grow old, wondering if starting a family was in my future. No franchise has ever understood someone like X-men understood me.
>>221407531Apparently they hate money too.
>>221407557Damn, man. I feel you.
I think this one was a flop.
>>221407633Nope.
>>221407608Now feel this.
>>221407216Only way for R-Rated capeshit to work if it's adapting a story like this, which requires years of already knowing the character. If it's like Deadpool, which requires for the character to be like Deadpool but in a sincere way. Or if it's like the first Joker, but this one I feel only worked specifically because it was about the joker.

>>221407790Logan is not based on any existing story (no Old Man Logan isn't anything like this, but would make an excellent movie)
>>221407557All right, manchild.
