That first x-men trilogy was pretty well built, lots of foreshadowing, you just know they had a plan, a solid one.
Logan finished his arc by the end of the second movie.
The last stand was fucking dark, we got a small hint of professor-x shenanigans, then it only got darker. Scott dead, mystique cast away, professor -x dead, jean dead, magneto lost his powers.
And all that was for a "cure" that is hinted at to only be temporary lmao

I really appreciate Grammer's performance in this moment, the way he looks at the magazine in his hand, then throws it away in disgust, like he is repulsed by having to use the cure.
Honestly, I just wish they hadn't tried to blend the cure story with the Dark Phoenix story. You can't do Phoenix without going into cosmic X-Men stories.
