>movies keep calling this a minigun
>it's actually quite large

???

it's an intelligence trick by the CIA. by calling it a minigun, the imperial japanese army figured it must be a really small gun and they didn't build a response to it until it was too late. they used miniguns to finish off the survivors in fukushima and hiroshima.

for you

It's small from my point of view

Thats bullshit.
It was invented by Dr Minnie Gunderson prior to the war. It was originally designed as a machine for delivering seeds to hungry flocks of birds

It's a miniature version of the guns they mount on fighter planes
>>

It was invented by gatling but when the bank did some clever financials, gatling went away into obscurity and died suddenly. Then a guy by the name of mini somehow or other obtained the patent for the gatling gun and called it the minigun

Ignorant fucks. It was developed in Maine so it was called the Maine-gun, but it changed to minigun
>>
>>221412125
You actually posted a biggun, this is what an actual minigun looks like. I believe we have yet to see the microgun.
>>
so what's the point of using this instead of like an m60 or something

for killing goat herders and revolting citizens.

You can dump a very large amount of firepower in the short window you have when flying over a target.
>>
>>221412636
minigun shoots out a total of 6 cartridges per shot vs the M60's 1 bullet. combined with the minigun's firerate, it's an unstoppable crowd control weapon.

I figure with tracers it would be a lot easier to walk the bullets onto target just because it fires so much faster. I cant imagine you're really aiming these things with conventional sighting systems

I remember hearing some story ages ago about Trojan, the condom company, getting access to the soviet union, and so everything they send over were just normal condoms, but labeled as "size small" for no other reason then having some russian going "Fucking hell... how big are they!?!"

I thought the same thing about recoilless rifles. They're obviously cannons, not rifles.

When you are doing something like a gun run you want as much lead in the air as possible because your engagement window is so small.

Looking at other structures that exist in the universe, it is in fact rather small.
