>Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) is preparing to distribute ¥11.5 billion ($71.1 million) in subsidies to 15 major entertainment companies as part of a new initiative aimed at accelerating the global expansion of anime overseas, with AI-powered translation playing a key role in the initiative.

Anime is growing
>>
I have a bad feeling about this
>>
Anime was popular because it was designed to cater to a specific demographic. Trying to commercialize it defeats the purpose.

The Japanese government is funding pro-natal anime to get their birthrates back up.

japan is the worst at making things available to people overseas then they cry about it being pirated. they don't make anything good anymore the window is closed.
>>
Ugh, you fucking macroshits...

>they don't make anything good anymore

Yeah tell me somethin' good, fren. The last anime I enjoyed watching was Akiba Maid War. I like the band Hagane too. I will check out one of these but I don't know man I just don't know...

>You and I Are Polar Opposites
This was really good
>>
>>221413106
Jigokuraku starts off really edgy and cringe, so give it a couple of episodes. The dynamic shifts and characters are worth it.
>>
>>221412715
They unironically aren't obligated to make anything available outside Japan. Why would they be?
>>
Watched Nippon Sangoku yesterday, and boy, what a piece of shit. Errm Ackshually: The Anime. Also felt like a slideshow.
>>

Maybe you can figure it out if you think really hard.

I'm edgy and cringe. I have a hard time enjoying digital animation desu. I will check it out but if I don't like it I am going to put on Tenchi Muyo...
>>
>>221413171
Ironically I didn't say they were obligated to. They're a business so they might want to make money. Capcom of America has always been completely pathetic at translating anything. So is pretty much every Japanese company that even attempts it. They've got no money and they complain about fansubs and piracy instead of making it available outside of Japan. Maybe unironically don't cry about foreign fans making their own subs and pirating it when 1. you didn't translate it for them 2. you didn't even make it available for them to buy it. But no you get Japanese people on twitter saying "LEARN JAPANESE COME TO JAPAN AND BUY IT HERE STUPID GAIJIN" yeah no I will pirate it unironically I have no obligation to buy anything.

>I have a hard time enjoying digital animation desu.
I don't mind it. If they overdo it with 3DCG, then I'm going to get annoyed, but if it's a beautiful production, I really don't care if it's digital.

Reminds me of a fucktard on /vr/ recently complaining about westerners not buying some niche Japan-only PS1 game and causing it to fail (the Japanese could've bought it, alas, it's the fault of baka-gaijin...)

There's a reason they can't speak English at all still but Filipinos, Koreans, and even Indians can... They're arrogant and still want to pretend it's the 80s when they thought America was doomed and they would become the big boys.
>>
how will this impact Steel Ball Run's release schedule?

balls roll
