Were you raised in an anti SpongeBob home? If so, how has it affected you?
i guess so. in 96 or 97 we started attending an extremely conservative church and most tv and movies were no longer allowed in the house
only because i thought spongebob was retarded as a kidi only watched gigachad cartoons not weasily little weirdo faggot shit
spongebob premiered right when I aged out of cartoons. Used to watch Doug, Rugrats, Rocko's Modern Life all the damn time but by the time Spongebob came along all I wanted to do was watch WWF
Growing up I had one of those grandmas that was heavy against Harry Potter and DragonBall Z and shit and my dad actually made us not watch or read it as a result. As an adult I've come to find out she was a whore who had her first child at 15, and my dad grew up in a household where everyone ignored the fact that his older brother was a pedophile molester/rapist that marauded everyone else including my dad. That guy is now in prison for 30+ years but my grandparents still pretend like nothing happened. It's one of those "Muslim that will commit every sin possible but eating bacon" situations I guess
It was tough. My dad would always insist that it was "bluepilled" and that by refusing to watch it we were "owning the libs".
no, but my household was anti harry potter and pokemon and honestly i really didnt care that much about either. they chilled out about that though by the time i was like 14. no idea why everyone in the world decided to have schizophrenia regarding those two franchises for a few years
>>221414979>be conservative>socially stunt your children by shielding them from the worldAs we speak now there are thousands of children and teens who aren't allowed to attend school, have friends, or hold a job, because their conservative parents *just know* one of these things will turn their kids trans or gay
>>221414979My dad once objected to Spongebob and Patrick holding hands as they walked out of the Fry Cook Games but that’s about it. "She doesn’t like to talk about" is still his favorite joke in the history of television, his lungs about to burst any time it’s brought up.
>>221414979Mentally ill thread. Sorry your evil parents made you go to church.
Was it bad that my parents were constantly high & as long as it wasn't rated R it was fine? I mean, there was lots of love
>>221415088my friend had a neighbor like this, kid said their 'religion told them to throw the tv out'.>mfw they owned a PC with DOOM though
>>221415290Doom is a lot less harmful than television
>>221415229Yeah I bet there was lots of love from your parents 'friends' and pseudo-family, fag.
>>221415125it's always true that anyone who tries to impose moral restrictions on others has a fucked up background and they are just trying to offload their guilt/trauma onto children
>>221414979Anyone that watched SpongeBob turned out to be stupid.
>>221415290when i was 10 or so my parents got rid of all my action figures. said they had evil faces or something
>>221415196The next wave of woke will be from sheltered Gen Alpha kids of ultra conservative millennial parents. I see people on Xitter bragging they homeschool their kids and don't let them use the internet. They're going to be in for a rude awakening when those kids enter the real world as adults. The kids are going to be freaks who have no reference point for the jokes all their peers are making.
>>221415142based dad
>>221414979Idk, I was already 14 when it came out, I didn't care about it. Most of the shit people care about I don't care about. People have shit taste.
>>221414979My parents wouldn't let us watch kids shows or any movie with a rating below PG13. They wanted to prepare me for the real world
>>221414979From my experience it's pretty much a toss-up whether the kids who grew up with parents like that turn into hardworking A+ students because they're not distracted by the stuff the other kids are or become autistic weirdos who just become obsessed with niche things. Probably proof that nature plays just as much if not more of a role than nurture.
Yes and I'm glad. Spongebob is literal goyslop. I didn't watch much TV as a kid. Mostly reading.
I only had over the air TV, so i never watched spongebob. They didn't mind me and my sister watching filth like slashers and stoner movies, they just didn't want to pay for satellite (cable didn't come through until 2019 on the road I grew up on, and it's actually fiber, so cable never came through). Pokemon, Dragon Balls,Cardcaptors, Yugi-oh and Harry Potter was fine with them too, so I don't think Spngebob would've been a problem
>>221415290DOOM is a Christian game as far as I’m concerned.
