>>221480506Nolan has always been an overrated hack who thinks he's smarter than he actually is, and the only reason why it's being noticed now is due to the miscastings. If he wanted to be woke if a smart way, he should've cast a MENA actress (likely Arab/Iranian/Turkish) to play Helen. That Farahani woman would be a good example. There are even some light-skinned South Asian and Afghan actresses (who are in exile like many of the Iranian ones) that would fit the bill. I am saying this as someone who likes Lupita. That and Elliot Page as Achilles and Zendaya as Athena (and I like Zendaya) come off as bait for the EFAP/Drinker types. And I dislike Tom Holland's twerp face (he's part of the reason the Peter in Insomniac Spiderman post-2018 looks hideous).
>>221482680*I meant the Afghan and Iranian actresses are in exile. This isn't the first time he has done miscastings. Harry Styles in Dunkirk takes you out of the movie. Maggie didn't need to be in the Dark Knight. And Emily Blunt doesn't look anything like the actual Kitty Oppenheimer. The dialogue in Oppenheimer feels so awkward to listen to. I feel a lot of Nolan fans don't watch much old cinema (or none at all) and Nolan offers a veneer of depth to someone who mostly watches capeslop.
>>221482226>>221480654"Check out her ass" is the last gasp of a shill.
