">I am... Captain le quirk chungus Pirate man".
Sparrow wouldn't have lasted beyond the arrest scene if he didn't have plot armour.
Will Turner on the other hand would've survived the historical pirate era.

It must be so miserable being constantly jaded to the point where you can't even enjoy POTC man

Never claimed that.
Will Turner, Blackbeard, Barbossa and Elizabeth Swan are all great.
Black Pearl and On Stranger Tides are the best, DMC and AWE are mid, DMTNT is trash.

Not the first movie's fault. Jack is human at the end, ghost pirates are either human or dead. If you used AI to make a new second movie, it could be much more grounded and less of a departure from the first.

Jack is a pirate, a violent outlaw and exotic character who drinks, uses drugs, kills people etc.. That's all well and good. The problem is that ending of Black Pearl when Will mounts the gallows in his adventurer outfit. The one thing that can't happen is for the hero to cross over and become the exotic scallywag. Will's character development had to be stopped. Ultimately they accepted that he's a pirate, but some key things changed: Jack is no longer pirate Jack. He's main character Jack, he crossed over to the harmless side. That way Will and Elizabeth can be his friend. Will's journey to piracy is not one of freedom, but slavery to the magic slave pirate Davey Jones. Their goal was to take away the appeal of piracy and stop people siding with them, once they captured the audience with Black Pearl.

@Grok gen me a new Pirates of the Caribbean 2 film

Scene 1 Will leads a boarding party from belowdecks onto a spanish ship. It's not clear who's the pirate until Norrington smashes a bottle of wine over the spanish flag
Scene 2 In their camp, Will overhears a former pirate plotting mutiny and swears to protect Norrington
Scene 3 Will falls asleep on watch and wakes up to Norrington being stabbed and a guy chases him almost to death
Scene 4 Will finds a wrecked boat in the swamp and rigs up the sail, spends hours on a calm spooky sea at night. Sees the ship leaving in the far distance
Scene 5 A storm blows him almost to overtaking the ship and then back in the opposite direction until he washes up on some beach with absolutely no name at all and almost dehydrates to death. He lights a big smoky fire . . .
Scene 6 Will wakes to an upside down view of Jack Sparrow, a pirate who would not take the king's amnesty.
Scene 7 Jack brings him back to health and sends for Elizabeth, who arrives in her own graceful sloop. Together they cruise the shallow sandy caribbean and track the king's ships of Spain and England, in a Black Pearl returned to her living form
Scene 8 They sneak to Port Royal under cover of a storm and watch as the island is struck and ships run ashore
Scene 9 The mutineer ship is tracked to the hideout of a major spanish pirate. When they arrive the mutineers are being hanged. Spanish pirate lord El Z offers Jack and Will treasure in return for leading him to Isla de Muerta. Jack agrees but Will shows hesitation and is imprisoned
Scene 10 The Black Pearl and spanish pirate ships (including the former Navy mutineer ship) sail into the bermuda triangle and another storm appears. Jack savagely attacks the spanish flagship in heavy seas and frees Will, destroying the former Dauntless with an explosion as its decks are already shipping water
Scene 11 Jack and Will limp back to a paradise island where Elizabeth is waiting, along with a woman for Jack ffs

And then there's a final scene of them getting drunk on rum and having a lush pirate feast on the beach instead of starving or dying of thirst. Credits. Theme song. Drink up me hearties yo ho

intercut one: while Will is getting burnt alive on an open boat and starving on the island, Elizabeth dreams about ghost pirates, gold and dread in her comfy covers.
intercut two: during the storm battle, Dauntless's lower gundeck is firing at the Black Pearl while waves are coming in. Captain Jack struck during the storm to minimize their advantage.

Pirates of the Caribbean is a trilogy. The 4th and 5th movies are NOT canon.

PotC is one of the most perfect generically appealing movies to ever be created. it's more mature to admit you enjoyed it than to pretend you didn't.
