For the majority of American animation, they would literally throw out the 35mm film masters and transfer them to videotape masters, since they saw no need for such high quality masters. The video game masters were good enough to show on tv forever, and they just casually assumed that SD CRT TVs would dominate forever. That means when the show was released on DVD, it was a video tape master, rather than a new scan of the film masters so the show is stuck in blurry 640x480 hell forever. Total shame since that intro is absolutely GORGEOUS and I'd love to see it in proper HD.

Genuine question, is this actually good or enjoyable? I’ve debated about watching this but after seeing the trailers I’m not keen on how Magneto just strolls in and joins. Plus the X-Men kind of seem like jerks anyway. If you do like it, what do you like and dislike about it?
