A24 is developing a movie based on the Despair Code post similarly to how the Backrooms was based on an /x/ post. Josh Safdie is reportedly working on the movie

I was curious what it sounded like so I made this script.https://pastebin.com/raw/HUYuGteKIt's somewhat ambiguous what waveform was used and how the sounds were mixed. I included my best result and some options.
>>221486572Given he said it was some basic freeware vst it’s probably down to a square wave, a sine wave, or a triangle wave. I’d say square since he also said he was making chiptune type music
>>221486054wow that sounds like a really interesting movie jewish retards
So its Cell?

>>221486633You can find the original claimed sound at the end of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jv8Gyqzer20Sounds like more than a basic waveform. Might have reverb and chorus or something. But also the sound is a little sus. It does sound like a bunch of sounds being mixed together, but not 2000+ sounds, which always just sounds like noise when mixed equally pretty much no matter how you mix it. This sounds closer to 30-50 sounds. There are ways to get more of the frequencies to come out, but not this clearly and with this many sounds. It doesn't sound like it was mixed in such a way that older or newer sounds accidentally get decreased in volume either, which is one of the options in my script. It seems to favor sounds that are in the mid range, which is hard to do accidentally.I even have options to randomly cut out sounds, and that doesn't work either.I did just see the part about 4kHz, and my script targets 20kHz, but I played more around with it and it's just the same.I have a weird level of experience with mixing tons of tones together that I won't get into.My guess is someone got a cool sounding thick chord and decided to make a shitty /x/ greentext with it. (Of course, at best, they actually *did* make this sound but fucked it up in a way I've never heard and made a shitty /x/ greentext with it, but they didn't really discover a mathematically interesting thing, it just sounds the same as random frequencies)
