The druk pilot.
>>
training day without question

Weird answer but Much Ado '93. Perfectly cast.
>>
Training Day. Most deserved Best Actor win of all time. Flight is definitely second place.
>>
>>221585833
American Gangster
>>
the only denzel movies i've seen are training day and man on fire. which ones should i watch next?

Devil in a Blue Dress, top tier neo-noir.
Malcom X is also legitimately a great movie and Denzel gives a great performance and Spike Lee, while being an obnoxious mouthy bitch, is also an incredibly solid film-maker who loves film, and all of his early films are almost all top tier.

Virtuosity, is not the greatest movie ever made, but it was that low-budget action genre trash we've lost over the years.
Its also one of Crowe's earliest American films (the first was the quick and the dead, which is a Sam Rami western and worth watching too).
Crimson Tide, where Denzel stars across from Gene Hackman.
Inside Man is another Spike Lee joint that's a really solid heist caper.
He Got Game. He's a deadbeat dad in prison and the warden offers him a shorter sentence if he can convince his estranged son to go to college and play basketball. Amazing dramatic performance.
Courage under fire is a really solid military legal drama.
American Gangster, he plays frank lucas, directed by Ridley Scott, and Russel Crowe again.
Fallen is a solid supernatural horror.
Book of Eli is an OK post apocalyptic movie.
He's a really solid actor and he's made more good movies than bad, especially through the 90's he was a really bankable star.

Not that anon, but I can do both.
He's an obnoxious mouthy cunt, like I said, but when he talks about film he's usually worth at least listening to.

He was extremely good as Liam Neeson in Rob Roy. I couldn't even tell he wasn't Liam Neeson.

crimson tide is pretty good
but it has one of the biggest shark jumps ever when the director let tarantino write a part which made the officer he butts heads with racist which makes zero sense

Most of his 90s work was great and worth a watch.

I'm a sucker for Macbeth. This isn't my favorite adaptation, but I loved him as the titular character.

he's such a great actor, why do they limit him to playing "black" roles?
>>
>>221589692
I guess when you don't watch a lot of movies, you'd think that, but there's more "not black" movies listed in this thread than "black" ones.

I don't know why, can't put my finger on it exactly, but I've just never cared much for the scottish thread as his other major plays.
I like the RSC production with Ian Mckellan. Great cast with Judy dench as Lady Mcbeth.
Also a surprise appearance of a babyfaced Ian McDiarmid in like the first five minutes.

I will always be a hamlet-chad. I fucking love every second of it, and every character. Its one of those works that is about everything.

>they limit him to playing "black" roles?
What are you talking about? There are plenty of denzel movies that have nothing to do with his skin color.
Go watch Crimson Tide, that actor could have been any size shape or color because the race of the character has nothing to do with anything.
But if you cast his ass in Glory, you'd better believe that he is going to be playing a character who is or was a slave. That's how the cookie fucking crumbles in history.
>>
I have only seen a few Denzel Washington movies and I think he's fine, but why does every actor say he's the best ever? Is it a joke? Is there something I'm missing?
