Not usually a John Oliver fan but he kind of killed it in those scenes. He's got the perfect cadence / slightly pissed off demeanor for Soap Operas.

It's because Oliver's a citizen now and they'll have to denaturalize him first. Which should be easy enough once they start the process since he showed himself to not be of good moral character when he violated the terms of an earlier work visa by participating in a labor strike.

If you're trying to find any reason then any reason matters. Revoking citizenship is the new thing and Oliver would be a great poster boy for it. And he did legitimately violate the terms of his visa under a different administration that didn't bother to enforce a lot of immigration laws.
