it's a dumb movie, but enjoyable. It starts off with the worst plothole ever: the two enforcers realize they have the wrong man, and leave him alive. This does not happen. So you have to deleted everything after the opening because he is lying in a pool of blood right away.

One of the very few comedy movies I actually consider to be cinema. The cast is perfection.

The Big Lebowski is a movie I only ever appreciate more with each watch. Probably the tightest comedy script ever written. I imagine it must've been slightly divisive on release because it gives you zero closure whatsoever, even though that is the point.

My grandfather transitioned some years after his wife died and his son/my uncle transitioned around the time he divorced his wife. Logically in my case it's either genetic tendency or some common psychological phenomenon to cope with losing a woman in your life by becoming a woman in place of them. Grandpa got some big rocking tits.

I enjoyed it. It's not my favorite of all time, but I can definitely understand why it became a cult classic. Loved the humor, surreal tone and the attention to detail in how the non-mystery plays out. Also appreciate that even when depressing and introspective, it's still allowed to be comedic. Felt way more true to life than a lot of "dramadies" these days.

Got so stressed because it's a very genius artistic expression of how much people will just fuck with your good mood. Considering the scenes and characters are all outlandish, the outcome is too relatable.
It's great how The Dude sort of just rides above it despite constantly being fucked with by his allies and opponents. Fucking Walter!

The absolute best line in the film that I think of at least once a week is "And also let's not forget - let's not forget, dude, that keeping wildlife, erm... an amphibious rodent for, erm, y'know, domestic... within the city.... that ain't legal either." That line + delivery is so diamond perfect that it upsets me when I compare it to other films where they try to make me laugh with clever wordplay and elaborate jokes. Look how much you can achieve with so little.

In fact that whole scene is my favourite Walter scene in the whole film.

For me, it's Walter completely fucking up Donny's funeral.

A lot of the characters were based on people the Coens know. Walter's based on director John Milius, and you can tell just by looking at a pic of him Goodman's dead on.

The Making of Zombie Wars is vaguely similar, although it kind of falls apart due to the protagonist being a neurotic piece of shit aspiring screenplay writer and the rather anticlimactic ending.
