The whole "on rifle per 2 man" thing comes from WW1 where there were instances where units didnt have enough guns and the Tsar remarked "do they actually need them?". The NKVD did guard the rear and shoot deserters but they would never gun down an entire battalion like that. That said the kike bolsheviks were evil fuckers anyway and did way worse to their people.
