The novelty of cartoons that say fuck (but cartoons are for kids!) and a probe coming out of cartman's ass and that kind of stuff was really funny when I was in the 6th grade. Today I haven't watched South Park in probably twenty years, and it's in the same "holy shit they're still around" category as The Simpsons.

it's always been low-hanging fruit midwitcore. there's a reason it has always appealed to children as much as adults and that's not because the characters are children, it's because it's pretty shallow and easy to appeal to the lowest common denominator. that being said, I'm still nostalgic for the first 5 or so seasons, the movie, and the n64 games. SP, Simpsons, and Family Guy all need to be taken out back and put out of their misery.
