Where were you at the moment that millions of polchuds' voices cried out in fear before going silent?
Your irrelevant opinions will never change the fact that Nolan and his filmography are going down in history as one of the great cinematic accomplishments. It doesn't matter if you hate Interstellar, Oppenheimer, and The Odyssey. It has already been fated that they will last and be enjoyed/studied for decades and centuries to come. You can do nothing about it. Nolan has been immortalized. It has never been more over for the polchud and the film pseud. History will bury your thoughts while elevating the object of your derision.

>>221790463
Probably worst of his movies, his other movies were much more interesting, this one was almost too linear/ straightforward. Maybe that was the intention, to accurately portray miserable lifestyles up north.
>>
>>221790478
Denzel's son is the biggest weakness of an otherwise great film; Branagh, Pattinson, and Debicki mog him without trying. Seriously, watch it (with subtitles).

He is the worst part of the movie, easily. Movie would jump up two points with good lead, to bounce properly with excellent Pattinson. Nolan didn't even bother giving him a name in the movie.
>>
>>221790509
interesting. my ratings are probably
Lighthouse > Nosferatu > Northman > VVitch
but they are all 8/10s for me. I loved the mythological and epic elements of Northman. the only place where it dragged IMO was when he was Fjolnir's slave. also, I thought the Night Blade's kills prior to the duel at the Gates of Hel were sort of cheapened. we should've seen the blade absolutely wreaking havoc instead of it just being implied

>I just thought it might be a mess.
It is. Its not a bad movie, but its obnoxiously patting itself on the back for how clever it is with the whole time moving forward and backward, but then they also have a scene where they look at the audience and say "Don't ask questions!"
A lot of the action scenes are also just messy as fuck, like the stupid car driving in reverse scene (just because you reverse the flow of time doesn't mean you reverse the gears on a car, and reverse doesn't go 90 miles an hour without exploding everything under the hood). And then the big action set piece at the end where you have and army going forwards and backwards in time fighting another army that is also going backwards and forwards in time, and its just this big stupid confusing mess of a scene.
Though it does have one cool bit that makes you scratch your head (when a pile of rubble gets hit by a reverse RPG onto to get blown up with a regular RPG a second later, which makes you wonder what the initial state of the building was since the only point it WAS a building and not rubble is the 20 seconds after it gets unblown-up by the reverse rocket but before it gets re-blown-up).

I have similar feelings about TDKR and Dunkirk
Tenet is a very impressive movie, but the characters' motivations and goals are harder to make out than the time inverting, which is already confusing.
Interstellar should have ended when Cooper fell into the black hole, without all that pulling strings from behind the bookshelf bullshit.
Nolan should also give up the chopped dialogues trope, other than that I'm a fan.
>>
>>221790447

Appreciate the breakdown, anons. It's good to go in without overly high expectations. Hopefully its good qualities still result in a relatively satisfying watch. Plus, Pattinson has pretty much nailed every role I've seen him in since Good Time.

Then maybe just call your films "art" and not "queer art"? Seems like an easy fix. Have some spine and tell the people calling your work "queer" to get bent.
>>
>>221790722
I like Pattinson too, but he doesn't really get a lot to do in the movie. Plot wise he's super important, but nolan is just not an actor's director so its mostly just him standing around being an enigmatic henchman.
Kenneth Branagh was the highlight for me since he's just chewing the scenery and playing a bond villain.
Which begs the question: why the fuck wont someone let Nolan just make an honest to god Bond movie already? It would probably be pretty good and fun, and would make a lot of money.
>>
>>221791202
He's probably been asked but I'm not sure he has it in him to make Bond "sexy." Nolan is a lot of things, but his movies don't generally have that feeling of entertaining slickness. They're cold and precisely driven.

>>
>>221791574
Nah, insterstellar was a sloppy mess that is almost 3 hours long about the vastness of time and space, but never takes a second to decompress anything. Its just falling over itself to get to the next stupid contrived set piece that he thought up when he was high and watching space videos on youtube.
Not to mention that the entire framing device that introduces the movie (and is then forgotten about) lets you know that everything works out in the end because its a faux documentary at some point in the future, and then it introduces the blight which is ill defined but creates a ticking clock for the story that doesn't matter because again the beginning of the movie already established its all OK. Then there's the subplot that there was a conspiracy to make people think space is fake and gay while making the protagonist an astronaut who we know has gone into space, and its all for reasons, but secretly it was to consolidate resources for some off-world hail mary colonization project through a wormhole they just discovered inside the solar system, but My Coccaine who is in charge of everything was lying about his space-math all along for no other reason than a girl going back to her bedroom and seeing a message her dad left her that he knew would solve the space-math which let everyone get off the planet earth and save humanity, but if you already had these space bubbles built and ready to launch once someone figured out the space-math that was wrong in the first place, why not just make those habitats on earth where you could just have all your agriculture done in bubbles as you convert global industry into making more.
And then Ogre shits is also sitting on a million test tube babies that I guess she was supposed to birth and raise herself on some desolate planet because once everyone got into space no one was interested in going back through the wormhole?

>Pelops
>In Greek mythology, Pelops is a legendary hero, King of Pisa, and the foundational figure from whom the Peloponnese region derives its name (meaning "Island of Pelops"). Historically, the name is believed to derive from the Ancient Greek words pelios (dark) and ops (face/eye), translating roughly to "dark face" or "dark eyes".
