Is actually possible to pull off the 0.05% trick without going over the edge?
>>
Of course... if your redpilled enough.
>>
>>221792853
how so?
>>
No.
>t.just had another bottle of wine tonight, only night I didn't drink the last few weeks was on Sunday and I still don't know how I did it.
>>
>>221792814
No.
Over time your body will adjust, and the 0.05% won't feel like anything. You'll inevitably end up drinking more and going over the edge chasing that initial buzzed feeling.
>>
>>221792814
Nope. You won't feel the effects as your body gets used to it, then after a couple to a few days you'll start to feel sick, depending on your tolerance.

I don't care I'm going over the edge anyway
>>
>>221792814
Not if you have the alcoholic gene. The closest I've ever come to achieving this was merely not blacking out - and I started the day off with every intention of just maintaining a slight buzz.
>>
>>221792898
It really do be like that. A bottle of wine is nothing to me anymore. I should go see my Dorothy but am kinda afraid of getting my blood and liver stats checked.
>>
>>221792938
Kek I meant to say my doctor. Goddamn booze.

How do I know if I have the alcoholic gene? I used to feel kinda bad after 4 beers, but not since my break-up last year...
>>
>>221793068
the fact that you're asking and 4 beers is notable, you likely don't
>>
>>221792814
Your body builds up a tolerance, and you will need to consume exponentially more and more. And as you consume a lot more, your body and brain takes a lot more damage. And over time, that damage fucking nukes your health. This applies to most drugs.
>>
>>221793087
Well I upgraded to a bottle of wine. I could easily have 2 bottles but only bought one for tonight. I'm still not touching heavier stuff on a regular basis. But drinking alone in the evening just feels too good especially during the world cup.
>>
>>221793117
What's the most you can drink without going full alki?
>>
I've downgraded from a 12 pack a night to a 6 pack and two 24 oz Cheladas, am I an alcoholic?
>>
>>221793167
If you have to ask it's already too late.
>>
>>221793117
>stop drinking 2 years ago
>still fucking fat and unhappy
Other than Rush (2011), what are some movies where the protagonist wins, but loses?
>>
>>221793167
Are you a Mexibro? Chelada sounds fucking nice.
>>
>>221793068
>I used to feel kinda bad after 4 beers
This is a good sign

The first time I got drunk I thought it was the greatest feeling ever. I became happier, more energetic, and everything seemed more exciting - and this is what almost all alcoholics will tell you about their first time drinking.
>>
>>221793205
no, but I like cheladas
>>
>>221793202
I had to stop or die of heart failure.
Waiting anxiously now to be 70 so I can just put the final nail in, start up again and drink myself to death at last.
>>
I'm out of wine. I still have half a bottle of Fireball (not really a summer drink though) and a bottle of Aperol left. Should I go for it?

My intense motion sickness saved me from alcoholism, despite definitely having the gene. Can't get addicted when it makes me feel ill

no, hard to do sports solo. bodyweight exercises, light walking, not enough weightlifting

I have nothing interesting in my life, hate people, no energy to pursue hobbies, and without the booze I'm terribly bored

>>
>>221793409
You are aware that's your mind tricking you? Start hitting the gym asap.
>>
>>221793500
Both are terrible mid to long term honestly. I have a natural affinity for weed but I quit a week ago, now I'm in this thread.
>>
>>221793500
weed is the worst drug to exist. Pointless
>>
>>221793409
Step 1: Have something to look forward to.

The pieces will start to fall into place after that
>>
>>221793565
While I get where you're coming from, crack and fent and other way worse shit still exists.
>>
>>221793601
Never tried those but all the other normalfag drugs like coke, acid, molly blow it out of the water
>>
>>221793612
Different people prefer different things. You sound like you love stims. A lot of people don't, and prefer to zone out as a zombie
>>
>>221793612
Yeah but except for coke you can't do acid or MDMA 24/7 like you can with weed. That's the one big "advantage" of weed. And the dangerous thing about it.

>>
>>221793500
I think my weed tolerance is permanently fucked since it always shoots right back up even if I take a month off. I don't really feel anything from it anymore unless I combine it with alcohol.
>>
>>221793202
This is a misconception that many fall into, from many recoveries of many substances or addictions and it's kinda sad.
You didn't advance anything beyond. You didn't made any surplus progress in your life.
You merely advanced to baseline, your life is supposed to be built over the baseline.
It's like if you hit your head with a hammer every day, and then you go through an 8 months cleanup so you stop hitting your head with a hammer. And then you go "Well, I stopped hitting my head with a hammer already! Why am I not happy/got X/feel X!"
You stopped being a retard and reach baseline level in which normal people don't hit themselves on the head with a hammer.
You didn't "make progress" on anything.
Your life must be built from now on, you didn't do anything yet (just stopped being a retard)
>>
>>221793724
>stimulants
Yeah probably. I'm usually low energy so high energy drugs suit me more

This

I've smoked weed many times due to having a few pothead friends, and I regretted it every time. There's nothing fun about being dopey, forgetful and giggly.
>>
>>221793760
Well, you failed. Try harder
>>
>>221793697
I got addicted to weed because it was the only thing making me fall asleep and have no bizarre dreams when I was fucking stressed out from work. And then I couldn't fall asleep without it anymore. And then I had to light up first thing in the morning. Weed is my hardest obstacle to overcome. One week without it now but goddamn I hate waking up every couple of hours with the most bizarre dreams.
>>
>>221793755
Yeah that's what I mean. And people who are usually high energy often want something that calms them down so they can zone out for once. Everyone's different
>>
>>221793334
Wait, I'm not the only one?
Holy fuck, I'm really trying to find any drink that I can get a decent buzz out of without getting a huge fucking headache five minutes into drinking.
>>
>>221793747
>"Well, I stopped hitting my head with a hammer already! Why am I not happy/got X/feel X!"
lol, fair enough
>>
>>221793732

>>
>>221793857
Brother, why are you trying to hack your way into alcoholism? Just accept it's not for us, lmao
>>
>>221793819
What kinda weird dreams?
>>
>>221793892
Maybe he wants to enjoy the social benefits from drinking. I think he should try a decent white wine. But only drink with others, don't start doing it by yourself.
>>
>>221793747
Stopping unhealthy behaviors is considered progress by anyone who's not retarded, anon. In fact, simply recognizing that you have a problem can reasonably be considered progress.
>>
>>221793892
Because the few times the stars align and I manage to make it it's really fun, but it requires the perfect combination:
>Nothing allergic
>Well-rested for multiple nights beforehand
>No stressors
>The right mix of drinks

And even then what works on day X might not work on day Y, fucking bullshit. I can't even think about just fucking drinking a can of beer, just imagining it has me nauseous.
>>
>>221793915
Many have to do with my ex. She was the first one that left me and it hit my during a time I was already feeling like shit. Obviously my subconscious is telling me I still haven't got over it. But at the same time my subconscious won't let me when I constantly have these disturbing dreams. It's probably not helping I got diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder. It's one of many failures I had to endure in recent years.
>>
>>221793959
>just imagining it has me nauseous.
Sort of unrelated, but I paid $450 to take a taxi across an international border today just to avoid having to sit on a bus for 30 minutes because they make me extra motion sick. This shit is both a curse and a blessing
>>
>>221793959
>Nothing allergic
Wut
>>
>>221794007
Yeah i still have ex dreams as well but i literally don't think about her at all unless its my dream maybe you are just the same. Maybe just the last person you had sex with making you dream of her
>>
>>221793819
i believed stoners when they said weed wasnt addictive until i traveled to another country with one and he started having withdrawals. not physical ones like you see with alcohol and benzos, but he went fucking insane and eventually wandered into the sketchiest neighborhood trying to find weed. of course he was robbed
>>
>>221793953
Stopping harmful/unhealthy behaviour will never make you wholesome/healthy.
This will never happen and most people expect that to happen.
You just go to baseline.
AFTER you get to baseline, you go the same path that everyone else that wants to be healthy.
This is what I'm claiming, yes it is a good thing in your life that you stopped your destructive ways. But many people abandon baseline becaues they don't find comfort on the baseline or expected riches or benefits. You don't have them, you didn't produce them. All the work you did to get to baseline, has "reaching baseline" as it's reward. AFTER that you have to do aaaall the nomal work everyone else does to get to a tangible benefit

I try not to but that NPD part of me won't let me accept it. I was always the one exiting the relationship. I even bragged about it to my ex when we were still together. I literally said to her " I don't get dumped, I dump". And I'm pretty sure she immediately remembered that and enjoyed giving me that treatment.
>>
>>221794216
Stop saying baseline so much
>>
>>221794217
What's wrong with it?
>>
>>221794336
Do you disagree with him? It actually sounds kinda plausible.
>>
>>221794236
oh well i'm sure shes's worse off if she resorted to doping that just to "beat" you
>>
>>221794216
>Stopping harmful/unhealthy behaviour will never make you wholesome/healthy
Not in and of itself, but that doesn't make it not-advancement.

If you were treating yourself like shit and then you stop treating yourself like shit, this is advancement by any reasonable standard. Progress/advancement in life is not linear.

Used to get high and have a few beers at lunch with a co worker who was out of jail on work release. He always drank up to a certain point in his breathalyzer. I have thought about doing similar so i dont get another dui.
>>
>>221794362
Easy to fuck yourself up if you do it wrong:
>Grass before beer, you're in the clear
>Beer before grass, you're on your ass
>>
>>221794418
Lesson learned I'd say. Never brag about past relationships with your current gf.
>>
>>221794236
>I literally said to her " I don't get dumped, I dump". And I'm pretty sure she immediately remembered that and enjoyed giving me that treatment.
I don't know how you could have expected any other outcome, anon.
>>
>>221794426
It is not.
Like I said, it's a failed way to see your addiction, if you take 5 steps back, and then move towards normalcy, that you are "advancing"
You are recovering normalcy. You didn't advance shit.
If you treat this people like they advanced, they'll feel like shit because they are not actually reaping the rewards of their hard work. It was hard. But there is no rewards, the rewards is getting to baseline and that's it.
You are cheering at them for having nothing. They have nothing at baseline. You can make a party for them after they get a job, and spent a year working on a normal job. If you do the party when they have nothing, you are shooting them in the foot even before they started (they haven't)
>>
>>221794819
Yes. I immediately regretted it. But that's the narcissism.
>>
>>221794825
More than one person is replying to you, btw. Just so you know.
>>221794907
I feel like you're too self-aware and accepting to truly by a narcissist.
>>
>>221794949
T-thanks, anon.
>>
>>221794825
Ok, clearly you didn't understand what "progress is not linear" means.

No one in the history of mankind has ever maintained their "baseline" from birth until death. Happiness/fulfillment is based on its antithesis, which means we often have to learn the hard way why certain mindsets and behaviors are unhealthy - i.e. it's only after you experience suffering when you're able to know what happiness is.

Therefore, I'd argue that it's all progress in a sense. Either that, or perhaps it'd be more accurate to do away with the notion of progress altogether and just view life as a process of self-realization.
>>
>>221792814
People say that drinking builds tolerance, but the more I drink, the easier it is to get a buzz. I could drink a bottle of wine and only start to get a buzz but now I'm already buzzed by the time I've finished the first glass.
>>

anon that means your liver is failing
>>
>>221795297
If it doesn’t mean your liver is failing, it means the “entire bottle” was like 10 proof moscato or some shit and now you’re drinking 20-40 proof wine.
