He was trying to please children. He said it himself. Pure kino.

Wrong. It was a callback to Five Easy Pieces, a 1971 arthouse film.

You sir, are a scholar and a gentleman. Please do me the honor of letting me shake your hand.

he's a kid friendly quirky madman, Burton does or did those incredibly well
it was still fucking retarded to make him the one who killed Bruce's parents
>>
>kid friendly
the batman ride based on this movie in the 90s was horrific and terrifying as a kid (this was in WB movie world in Australia)
I think the ride even had a rape scene
>>
>>221797382
you're just mis-remembering your dad complaining about the prices
>>
>>221797520
i am not. It was designed to frighten like a haunted house roller coaster ride. It had one scene where Jokers thugs are implied to rape
>>
>>221797051
Wrong. It was a callback to me fucking your mother
>>
>>221797336
Yeah but it gave us dance with the devil by the pale moonlight kino
>>
>>221797681
true, the movie is more than good enough to make up for dumb shit like that and the massive gun that's somehow in his pants
>>
>>221797305
10 times more horrifying than Nolan.

Am I to understand that this scene is something less than completely amazing to you?

You and this thread need an enema!

he was the world's first fully-functional homicidal artist

it's great for its sheer absurdity, but terrible when you start thinking about it in the terms of "how did he fucking walk around without this thing's barrel looking like he had a massive dick"; which is a distinction I appreciated much less when I was younger

Have you been following the Charlie Kirk trial?

The Joker's girlfriend, placed by Alicia Hunt, is the scariest part of the movie if you read the subtext. What the fuck did Joker do to her face?!? Horrifying.
>>
>>221797336
The Joker is best when he's unpredictable, one day he'll pull a funny prank and another day he'll murder dozens, instead of Nolan who's just a terrorist that laughs sometimes

holy shit, I actually learned something from /tv/ today
>>
>>221799269
the scariest part of the movie is when Joker kills that dude with the joybuzzer, that smoking skeleton scared the shit out of me as a kid
>>
>>221798827
Especially when he spends an excruciating amount of time talking to the guy's charred corpse, I always had to look away as a kid.
>>
He's still the best live action Joker in regards to being true to the character. He's hilarious and terrifying all at once, and everything is done to amuse himself. Ledger's Joker carried Dark Knight hard, but it should have never become the standard portrayal and its why the Joker has become insufferably edgy and annoying, and why they could think of nothing else for Joker II aside from literal and symbolic rape.
