Nothing against Lithgow but I don't see him making it to the end of a 10 year project. They should have cast Geoffrey Rush.
>>
Kind of share those concerns. I'm thinking he will probably be there for most but will have to bow out towards the end for health reasons and we'll get some replacement.

He'll be 81 in a few months which already puts him statistically past the average male lifespan. He needs to get to 91, or you'd assume around 87 to film Half Blood Prince, after which they can probably film his scenes for the flashbacks and dream sequences in advance.
Precarious position when there's a not remote possibility he could die in his bed or get a stroke tomorrow.
>>
Lots of actors are living to their 90's easily. Once youve made it to 80 without issues then 90 is just coasting.

Replacing Calmly halfway through will be a tradition kept alive by this.

But why keep acting or working? Hes had a stellar career and most likely does not need the money. Why not enjoy the little time left with family/friends? Work till 91, raise a fist in "I DID IT", go home, die in sleep next day. I just don't see it.

Look at those giant man paws. He must have cost the production an absolute boatload by accidentally snapping prop wands in half with his vicelike grip.

Mark Rylance (66 years old) was their first choice before announcement but then his wife died and he passed on the role. A real missed opportunity. He is genuinely a great actor.

Hopefully he'll be the replacement if god forbid Lithgow dies.

Name five 6'4 actors that made it to their 90s.

some people are just in it for love of the game. plus, HE might not need the money, but his children and grandchildren and their children could. if you're the one person in your family with the opportunity to create generational wealth, you probably feel a lot of responsibility to make as much as you can before you croak.

He would have been a good Dumbledore. Soft, but intimidating when need be.

>why are we filming my scenes first?
>>
>>221797027
Thats true, just seems like he won't have much time to enjoy the fruits of his labor.

Clint Eastwood
Christopher Lee
Clint Walker

That’s all I can think of but there a few up and coming hopefuls. John Cleese is nearly there.
>>
geoffrey rush honestly just sounds better in every way in the role
>>
>>221796448
Jullian Glover could play before he'd die.
>>
>>221796829
same reason athletes keep playing. It's fun for actors to do roles.
>>

>Christopher Lee
What's he doing nowadays?
>>
>>221797371
Athletes physically can't go past a certain age due to strain on their bodies. Actors though, yeah but my point was he would be spending his last years with his family and not away from them but I guess to some that just doesnt matter.

I hope he can make it to the end without needing to be recast, Lithgow will make a great Dumbledore. Who knows, some people remain in good health and spirits even through their 80s
