Was he autistic?
>>221797013He was super creepy when negotiating with Cleopatra. Like a serpent. Amazing acting.
>>221797013Hated this recast so fucking much. Why did they do it?
I would say he was the opposite of autistic. He was just very smart and talented. But he was THE normie in Rome. He set the standard for normalcy for the next hundred years at least and became the aspirational figure for pretty much everyone to admire. He made his morality become the social norm through careful manipulation and propagandizing. Augustus was too important too young to really be considered autistic. He was never anti-social, quite the opposite. He was also rapacious sexually and fucked the wives of all sorts of patricians, kek, not something an autist can easily achieve.
>>221798092>Why did they do it?Because almost three years had passed when Pullo meets him again in Cisalpine Gaul and it's supposed to show how he's grown into a man during his time with his army but it's really jarring.
>>221798201Also a good deal of his rise to power came through careful manipulation of other people. He knew how to win over Caesar's legions. He rolled the dice at appropriate times, took the right gambles, and always seemed to play the right card. He made a couple of mistakes but largely he succeeded at everything, at least during the rise.
>>221798092They needed him to age up to be a credible military and political leader. The other kid did a good job but was child actor teir in size.
sister fucking pervert
>>221798092I hated nu Octavian during my first watch but though he was excellent on the second watch. Quite literally a filter.
sister fucking chad
>locking up your whore daughter on an island in the MedI'm thinkin, based.
>>221797830>my ship is very large and comfortable
>>221798607My exact thoughts. Didn't like him at all the first time, but realized he was really good on rewatch
Rome sucked. It's just an r rated soap opera.Varenus and Pillow's wacky bromance was Joss Whedon tier. The lighting in indoor scenes was awful. The second season was embarrasing.
