are we hype?
>>221799791They brought it back again?Let it die.
>>221799791No. This is a r3ddit zombie show.
>>221799791has it gotten literally any better since the very first revival or does it still feel as tired or worsethey ran out of actual material in like season 4
>>221799791I hope Leela gets preggo this season, they foreshadowed them having a baby two seasons ago when Fry became parent for Lizards and Leela said:>I hope you can be a parent to our children one day
some of those first "revival movies" were pretty decent but once the actual series restarted again it was back to feeling like it just existed to exist and almost all filler padding out these really thin ideas or jokes into full episodeslike kind of the same way the old SW EU would take these good to decent trilogies and stretch them out into 9-12-20 fucking books
>>221799791If the show has completely different writers what is even the point? It's just skinwalking.
>>221799897first two Hulu seasons were meidicore/forgettablelast season was very notable improvementso I have hope it can return to FOX quality
>>221799952>I have hope it can return to FOX qualitydear lord, that says it all, thanks
>>221799939it's literally the same writers as FOX run, there are just fewer of them
wasn't there something going on with dimaggio I'm forgetting, whatever happened with all that
>>221799791JUST LET IT DIE FOR THE LOVE OF GOODIt actually had 2-3 good final-for real final episodes. STOP IT
>zombie simpsons sister serieseven the classic episodes are the same humor as the og bad simpsons episodes
>>221799791How do people stomach these remakes and recastings of voice actors? I watched 30 seconds of the new Hulu one and the professors voice made my skin crawl. If the VA is so fucking old they need a respirator to finish their lines then either use AI or just leave the damn thing alone. And this is before you get into the writing.
>>221799791How pathetically sad…
>>221799791Hype? No. But I don't despise the 88th reboot like most seem to. Sure it's extremely embarassing when their commentary-on-current-events plotlines come years late but the eps so far have still been decent enough right-before-bed viewing slop
The last season was suprisingly okay. Funny enough I talk about animated shows but NEVER go to /co/.Anyways, it did fill me with existential angst when it showed that they keep the same timeline in-universe as real time, and they are living in 3026 for instance, and Fry has been in the future for like 26 years. Just fills me with fear knowing that Amy is now 45 years old, and they hand-wave it with newer tech makes people age slower. But all the cast are in a stasis loop, and Amy still dresses and acts like a ditzy 20 something when she should be an accomplished professor of her own right.
>>221800605Related, why are they still there? Amy is legit supposed to just be a fucking temp/intern. ie she works at a computer to pad her resume and to get connections to get a REAL JOB.
>>221800605It is a baffling choice to say the least. The show is set in the fucking future. They could have it perpetually be set in the year 3000 and nobody would bat an eye, there was no reason to always have it be set exactly 1000 years since current year, while also canonically stating that Fry was unfrozen in the year 3000 and everything has happened in real time. The biggest problem this raises is that Cubert and Dwight are still depicted as 13 years old, when they should be in their 30s by now.
>>221799791What millennial wiggled its way into the writer's room and decided that everyone should be cucks?
>>221800119He was holding out for a raise. He didn't get it, but you know what he did get? Respect. Literally what he said about the situation LMAO
>>221799791Dude the last season rocked.
>>221799791Who fights so hard to bring this back again and again? Need that guy to teach me how to bring back Tron Uprising, Batman the animated series, and tartakovskys clone wars
>>221801076It's a great tool for propaganda. If anything the cancellations and reboots help space it out so the goyim don't get tired of it, so they probably do it on purpose.
>>221801076It's a show that exists, with a fanbase, but isn't as popular as Family Guy or the Simpsons. So it just kinda of exists on a plane where it gets episodes and seasons but doesn't always last.
>>221800605>>221800647honestly I find this refreshing to the Simpson's eternal fucking stasisI was Bart's age when that show startednow I am older than Homer is in the show and they're all still the same fucking ages they were and Homer keeps getting "updated" to have different backstories
>>221801371You're not wrong.
>>221800605I don't get it either, but I suspect it's because they want to go for cultural relevance (which still makes no sense since it's meant to be 1000 into the future). I really lost interest when they were doing episodes about COVID since it debuted when things were going back to normal already.I really don't see why the whole series can't just take place over a 2 or 3 year period. They really squandered any possible fun they could've still had with Fry being ignorant of what has changed in the future, there was really only season 1 for that.
>>221801560>I really lost interest when they were doing episodes about COVID since it debuted when things were going back to normal already.way out of date references since animation and planning times and also old writers is like a hallmark of this series
>>221801371Except it's perpetual stasis but with character aging. So amy is a ditzy 21 year old who is now 45 and at the same job for 26 years. That's weird and also depressing. Amy should be a lovable but zany professor ditz with a lab coat and her own students. I can't remember if those stupid kids show up again but they were like 12-13 in the show's original run so they should be freaking 29 now.
>>221801629Yeah it's become really out of touch as time has gone on, but that was probably the biggest sign of falling behind that I've seen for any series before. South Park is dated as shit too and has episodes about things nobody remembers two weeks later, but at least they were red hot subjects when the episodes debuted. All I want are episodes that aren't about current events and just focus on some wacky self contained shit, but modern writers are incapable of not bringing current political topics into everything.
>>221801662t was likely because of the Simpson's stasis they even did that at alllol while still effectively doing the same thing
>>221801703>modern writers are incapable of not bringing current political topics into everything.>the ones that lean on it the hardest are typically the ones that beat you over the head with it the most
is that a waterworld parody? In the current year?
>>221801371You will live to see a time where Homer's origin story shows him as a broccoli haired zoomer listening to mumble rap and laughing with zoomer Carl and zoomer Lenny at AI generated memes
>>221801782>You will live to see itgod I hope notthe coming world isn't for me anywaybest of luck, really
>>221801817NTA but it's already kind of happened, The Odyssey does have a mumble rap artist in it and has a song in the movie and it has Tom Holland. The editing is also so fast that it's like a TikTok video.
>>221801853>Homer's origin storythat puts it at least like 15 years away? since when they depicted him as being in a grunge band, that was mid 90's and I was a teenager, he's eternally like 35
>>221801782I think we're gonna see the end of this though since tv/film seems to be dying. Unless they turn The Simpsons into some kind of Ai create-a-content mobile show or something. Monopoly Go! has made billions and billions so even a brief team-up with Simpsons would earn them hundreds of millions. It's the merch where the real money is made in the show.
>>221801771>is that a waterworld parody? In the current year?
>>221801918You're out of date. Homer is no longer Gen-X, he's a millennial now. His last origin story had him growing up in the 90s, as the kind of kid who'd listen to SADGASM. If he's 38 now, he was born in 1998. Give it a few years and Grandpa's gonna be an Iraq war veteran.
>>221801973>It's the merch where the real money is madethis is both why star wars was worth $4 billion with 6 movies, and worth probably $350 or so now
>>221802013>His last origin story had him growing up in the 90s, as the kind of kid who'd listen to SADGASM.yeah at this point I've only effectively watched less than half of this show
>>221801771It's him.
>>221801662Really creepy.
>>221799791They should do more mathematics physics based episodes those were kino
while i watch up to the 4 movies, season 4 is the cutoff for the show. this show proves 9 doctorates in a creative room cannot salvage a season. season 6 (considered the start of the reboot) was awful. season 7 was awfuli love the writers, they lost their camaraderie and making each other laugh by taking that break. probably took on new political opinions, ran out of books or theories they wanted to do, and scrounged for stuff they weren't super into when they were first hired 'cuz they wanted to make it good.will not watch, not this, not king of the hill, not beavis and butt-head
>>221802013>If he's 38 now, he was born in 1998.Do the math again, anon.
>>221801973Speaking ofhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDxn0CD41b0Are they using AI voices in this? Burns sounds less like he's about to keel over.
>>221801993Fry looks like Kevin Costner's character.
>>221802013>If he's 38 now, he was born in 1998Oof. Modern education...
>>221799952>last season was very notable improvementYeah, yeah, that's what all the shills say, too, about Zombie Simpsons.
>>221803043>Are they using AI voices in this? Burns sounds less like he's about to keel over. They have to be, Burns no longer sounds hoarse.
>>221799872they brought it back a few years agoi watched some of the first episode of season 8 before dropping it, seemed dogshit
>>221799791Fuck that, Fry's not only been feminized but he's openly waving a flag of "White surrender".
>>221799791I watched the first batch of Hulu episodes and they were bad
People like to talk shit about the comedy central seasons and they're clearly not as good but still watchable - only a handful of actually bad episodes. From that perspective, is any of the hulu run worth bothering with or is it just offensively bad?
>>221803561Aaaaaaand there it is.
>>221803635Hulu futurama runs distinctly tepid-mild. There are moments where I enjoy it but the seasons on the whole are more boring than anything else
>>221799791Hard to believe anyone would binge watch these seasons. I tried watching the last season weekly but ended up taking 8 months to finish it.
>>221803635Aaaaaaand there it is.
I find it offensive how every hulu season ends with a "profound" episode trying to recapture the impact of the previous "this could have been the finale" episodes, but they've gotten less and less interesting
>>221799791https://youtu.be/1oUXUn30hts?t=53
>>221800605In the first hulu episode they say that time distortions caused by the CC finale "Meanwhile" resulted in a 10 year time skipSo it's not quite as bad as you say, but the characters are definitely in a state of arrested development
>>221799791The problem with modern comedy shows isn't so much the jokes, it's the pacing. There's one joke (that takes way too long), then 5 solid minutes of nothing, then another overly long joke.
>>221800839But that's an old joke
>>221802013>If he's 38 now, he was born in 1998lmao it's so obvious you were born in 2005
>>221799791Fuck this shit. Fry and Leela should be married by now. I cant wait take more of this relationship reset that happens every new season.
>>221799791Absolutely not, every episode after those first four movies has been shit and even the movies weren't great.
>>221800839Barbados has always been a thorn in Hermes' side.
>>221801076>Batman the animated seriesWe already got that. It was that shitty JJ Abrams thing where Harley was a fat asian chick, and Penquin was a woman. Bruce Timm worked on that. It's a bitter pill to swallow, but your heroes from 30 years ago aren't the same people anymore.
>>221802925I stopped Futurama when its Fox run ended, and I never cared about King of the Hill, but I actually liked the reboot of Beavis and Butt-head. It's better than the 2011 reboot. The only episode I saw that I didn't like was the one where Beavis hallucinates fire actually talking to him, and instead of telling him to burn things, it tells him to do good deeds, and you have the punchline predicted within 30 seconds, and you could just tell that it was written by some fat millennial chick.
>>221799791John DiMaggio (voice of Bender) went on a psychotic tirade during BLM insulting and blocking everyone who said ALL lives matter or asking him if their own lives or even John's life mattered. John does not care about the lives of non-blacks. For this reason, I will never support ANYTHING John DiMaggio is in, in any capacity. Period, end of story.
>>221800627Amy is the least offensive because she has a planetary sized trust fund and it's conceivable that if she found a second family in Planet Express she'd just dick around and hang out.
Please God why. Everything after the Fox seasons is irredeemable garbage and it just keeps getting worse and worse.
I despise zombie simpsons and found last two seasons fun. I don't know what to tell you guys so you don't think I'm a shill. Go fuck yourselves?
>>221799872To shreds you say?
>>221799791>le man bun!!!>Aren't we so topical making references to current- uh I mean, 2010!?
>>221803043This is the future of The Simpsons when all the actors are dead, marketing mascots for aging millennials.
It hasn't been good since like season 4 just let it fucking die already
>>221800197Exactly
>>221799897I’d say it’s better than the Comedy Central reboot, just barely good enough to justify itself.
>>221808693Imagine being a bigger piece of shit than the actual Bender
>>221805426>>221807746There's a difference in having a rival versus a full on cuck situation. Besides I said EVERYONE not just Hermes. Amy and Leela cuck Kif and Fry all the time now. Hell, even Leela's dad got cucked by Zapp.
>>221803038 #Give him a break. Zoomers are all over 80 years old now, their minds don't work so well.
>>221812674Leela constantly had sex with other people even in the original 4 seasons (also with Zapp)
With no announcement yet of any renewal, it's looking more and more like the end of the road for Hulurama.Interesting pattern: 4 years on Fox, 4 years on Comedy Central, 4 years on Hulu
>>221800605>Amy still dresses and acts like a ditzy 20 something when she should be an accomplished professor of her own right. It was always really weird to me how Amy was supposed to be the Professor's intern/assistant because the original run basically never did anything with that character trait. I don't think they ever even really acknowledge the fact that she's also a scientist until the first revival series.
test
>>221814019She wasn't in a committed relationship with Fry in the original series.
>>221812916nah fuck emi'm looking forward to the suicides
>>221816370>It was always really weird to me how Amy was supposed to be the Professor's intern/assistant because the original run basically never did anything with that character trait. I don't think they ever even really acknowledge the fact that she's also a scientist until the first revival series. She does office work off screen but Hermies does most of that side.
>>221799791i didn't know it was stll "alive"
>still watching Groening, MacFarlane or even South Park slop in 2026
No, I quit after the Susan Boil/Boyle joke.
I just really want yash to pull out the vicroy.....I think ash is too dumb even though shes outrageously attractive....I just want to watch people to game hard.....
>>221799939It's mostly the same writers. It's just that they're old and bitter.
>>221799791>boomers can't stop obsessing over cartoons from their childhoodembarrassing
>>221799791how are they going to woke it up?
>>221802013>If he's 38 now, he was born in 1998Hm
>>221799791Stop, STOOOP!.. It's already dead ;_;
>>221799791Every revival just gets worse and worse.
