Why is The Goonies so fondly remembered when Monster Squad is the superior movie?
>>
>"KICK HIM IN THE NARDS!"
WOLFMAN DOESN'T HAVE NARDS!
*Kicks groin*
>"Wolfman's got nards!"

It really is a great movie a very underappreciated gem.

Monster Squad is kino
>Best portrayal of Dracula
>Good Wolfman (Dog Soldiers has the best werewolves)
>Great Frankenstein
>Best Creature from the Black Lagoon knock off

>Calls Horace fat
>Then calls him a faggot
>”Ah man…fat kid farted!”
Based bullies. It’s a shame they had to change the plot of the movie. The unreleased version had the Jewish guy as the real monster, who was trying to sacrifice the kids to Moloch and the monsters were really under his command. I like the movie how it was but that would have been Kino but maybe a little too much for a kid’s movie.

Apples and oranges, but I suspect monster squad was just a little bit ahead of its time.
That being said it was fairly popular among kids when it came out.
I rewatch it almost every year during october because its a perfect Halloween movie.

I watch Monster Squad once a year on Halloween. This, Sleepy Hollow and Fright Night are my go to movies.
>>
I heard some famous actor liked monster squad.
>>
I loved it as a kid but watched it as an adult and it barely does anything with the monsters before it ends.
>1 hr 22 minutes vs 1 hr 54 minutes
Goonies has a relatively slow start but the last 45 minutes are great
