>>221809720The main problem is that they try to force the whole story of King Arthur in a movie, which fundementally doesn't work. There's so much material and it spans decades; with an abundance of interesting side characters. This is why most Arthur movies fall flat. They try to squeeze far too much into it. Excaliber is is really the only true contender, but it suffers from too much going on, and it I didnt care for it being an epic fantasy movie rather than just a typical medieval setting with some magic stuff going on. I haven't watched it, but Sir Gawain and the Green Knight had the right idea by focusing on a largely self-contained story, and some scenes look interesting; it's just a shame they made Gawain Indian. Merlin with Sam Neil was also pretty good.
